Black Sox Sweep Cannons in Playoffs

August 21-22, MOUNT LAKE TERRACE - The Black Sox beat the Cannons in the first two games of their best-of-three game series in the opening round of the playoffs. The Cannons lost game one 11-10, and then game two 10-7 to end the 2010 season.


Regular Season Complete

August 15, MERCER ISLAND - The Cannons finished the 2010 regular season with a 11-6-1 record following a 14-11 loss to the Risers. The day before the Cannons beat the Wizards 15-3 to lock up a playoff spot.


Cannons Beat Risers, Lose to Jays

August 1, KENT MEMORIAL PARK - The Cannons (9-5 NABA) knocked off the Risers 11-1 in their first game of the day behind starting pitcher Derek Benson. In the second game the Jays completed a season sweep of the Cannons with a 12-6 win.


Cannons Split Two Weekend Games

July 25, EDMONDS HIGH SCHOOL - The Cannons (8-4 NABA) lost 11-6 to the Bombers on Sunday. Cannons starting pitcher Derek Benson took his first loss of the season.

July 24, MERCER ISLAND - The Cannons got their second straight shutout with a complete game by Pete Ford in a 10-0 win over the Bears.


Cannons Only One Win in Tournament

July 1-4, BELLEVUE - The Cannons rallied for 2 runs in their final at bats but left the bases loaded in a 3-2 loss to the Miners in the opening game of the Seattle 4th of July Tournament


Cannons Back On the Field, Win 13-1

June 13, MERCER ISLAND - After two rain-outs and a week off for Memorial Day, the Cannons got back in action with a 13-1 win over R.C. Homes. Orion Bell hit a grand-slam to lead the Cannons 14-hit attack and Pete Ford struck out 5 over 5 innings to get the win. The Cannons are now 3-2 in the Seattle NABA National Division.


Cannons 9-4 Over Dragons

May 16, EDMONDS HIGH SCHOOL - The Cannons (2-2) climbed back to the .500 mark with a solid 9-4 win over the Dragons. Cannons' starting pitcher Derek Benson pitched 5 innings and struck out 9 to pick up his second win of the season.
Center fielder Matt Metsker collected two extra-base hits, with a double and a triple, to raise his team leading batting average to .625. Box Score


Jays Rough Up Cannons 9-6

May 2, MERCER ISLAND - The Cannons (1-2) jumped out to an early 3-0 lead over the Jays but then gave up 7 runs in the middle innings to let the game slip away.
Cannons Matt Metsker and Derek Benson continued their hot hitting with each collecting 2 hits in the game. Box Score


Cannons Get First Win 12-4

April 25, EDMONDS HIGH SCHOOL - The Cannons (1-1) got in the win column for the 2010 season with a 12-4 victory over the Bears (1-2). The Cannons scored 6 runs in the first inning and pounded out 16 hits for the game, led by Matt Metsker's 4 for 4 day. Aaron Boisjolie was 3 for 3 with 2 RBI and starting pitcher Derek Benson had 2 hits and 3 RBI.
Benson (1-0) picked up the win going 5 innings and striking out 11. Pete Ford closed out the game with two innings of relief work. Box Score


Cannons Drop Season Opener

April 18, MERCER ISLAND - The Mets held the Cannons to only a single run in the 2010 season opener in a 3-1 Mets win. Cannons starting pitcher Pete Ford went 6 innings, struck out 9 while allowing only 2 runs on 6 hits but was tagged with the loss. Box Score

Mariners, 2010 4th of July Tournament Champions

The Puget Sound Mariners won a thrilling championship game over the Northwest Honkers 4-3. The 2010 Seattle 4th of July Tournament Championship is the Mariners fourth Tournament title, along with championships in 2004, 2006 and 2007.
