Early Run Spey was originated by contributiong fly tyer Joe Gablick. Joe sent this quite a long time ago now, but it was one of those flies that I had buried in my archives of flies to post. He writes about it, "I've spent the past year designing a series of spey flies for Great Lakes
Steelhead called the GL Spey Series. The series consists of 5 patterns and I am enclosing a picture of one." Joe, who is from Lower Burrell, Pa. has been tying for over 30 years. He conducts a flyfishing school that emphasizes relaxation, casting, and enjoying nature's surroundings. Take a moment to visit his website, The Contented Angler.
