Freestone Caddis (Orzel)

Freestone Caddis (Orzel)
Name Freestone Caddis
Category Steelhead
BodyFluorescent Pink Chenille
CollarBlack Hackle, Sparse
Head Black Chenille

The pattern for this fly came from the fine book by Dick Stewart and Farrow Allen, Flies for Steelhead. They write that this impresionistic caddis larvae imitation was developed by Wayne Orzel for the Kalama River in Washington. This fly should do well on rivers where there are healthy caddis populations.
