The pattern for this fly came from the fine book by Dick Stewart and Farrow Allen, Flies for Steelhead. They write that this fly was originated by Steve Gobin. Steve Gobin is an excellent fly tyer, recognized as one of Washington's best tier's of Classic Atlantic Salmon Flies and Speys. This example does not do justice to his tying. Take a look at the book to see the Steve Gobin tied fly.
