CREATE A MULTI-BACKGROUND DESIGN

These instructions are written for a triple-border webpage. You can add or delete middle layers, but be sure to use the back layer and the top layer.

BACK LAYER

  1. Your back layer is coded into the body background at the top of the page.
  2. Using bgproperties="fixed" will keep the pattern stationary.
  3. Remember that your links will appear on the top layer, so choose colors with that in mind.
  4. Replace the blue text in the example below with your own information.
  5. Click Here to find color numbers.

EXAMPLE

<body background="URL of your image" bgproperties="fixed" text="#font color number" link="#link color number" vlink="#viewed link color number"><tr><td>

CENTER LAYER

  1. Align your table in the center.
  2. Use a percentage for the width. This is a percentage of the back page, so that border will show all around. Using a percentage rather than a number will keep the page in proportion on all size monitors.
  3. There will only be one column. (colspan=1)
  4. You won't need any cellspacing. (cellspacing=0)
  5. Cellpadding determines how much of this image will show around the top layer. The larger the number, the more will show and the smaller the top layer will be.
  6. Decide on a border width. The larger the number, the wider the border.
  7. Decide on a border color. If you want to give your border a 3D look, use a light border color and a dark border color.
  8. For the background, code in the image you want to use.
  9. Replace the blue text in the example below with your own information.
  10. Click Here to find color numbers.

EXAMPLE

<table width=90% align=center colspan=1 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=10 border=4 bordercolorlight="#color number" bordercolordark="#color number" background="URL of your image"> <tr><td>

TOP LAYER

  1. Align your table in the center.
  2. Give it a width of 100%. The indention will be created by the previous coding.
  3. There will only be one column. (colspan=1)
  4. You won't need any cellspacing. (cellspacing=0)
  5. Cellpadding determines how far in the text will be. The larger the number, the more indention for the text.

EXAMPLE

<table width=100% align=center colspan=1 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=15 border=4 bordercolorlight="#color number" bordercolordark="#color number" background="URL of your image"><tr><td>
