Checkmate II-22x 28 giclee'
on canvas, gallery-wrapped, edition of 250, 2014.
"Gallery-wrapped" means the canvas is wrapped around
deep wood stretchers and stapled on the back so it is ready to
hang as-is.
It is signed and numbered on the back, laminated, and comes with
a certificate of authenticity. The title refers to a possible
"game" in progress and there is a Queen candle-holder
under the smoke which contains a female nude image and a knight
under the image of the male. The smoke intertwines at the top in
the form of an embracing couple. There is also a shadow of the
couple on the wall and their reflection in the glasses and the
champagne bucket. I repainted a piece I did in 2002 called,
simply, "Checkmate" which was printed on paper and had
a different background and table. This piece is also available
without the wood stretchers, just rolled in a tube. It is
copyrighted.
$20.00 will be added for shipping.
