April 6, 2000: Survey says?

Welp! I'm going home for the weekend so I figured I should update on this week. Let's begin with last weekend.

Saturday: Jim was just dying for someone to go downtown with, so I volunteered myself. *L* It was fun tho because I had this huge craving for doughnuts! We went to the marketplace and he got an EYE-talian sammich and then we ate at the Harbor Steps. You remember those, right?

We walked around and looked in some stores, which were all pretty damn small! After a few hours of this we were both pretty tired and went back to the dorms where I met Annie and Wilson. So then I went back out with those two and we had Costco polish dogs for lunch/dinner. Yum!

For some reason Weese got into his head that he wanted a piece of the Kingdome. So that's what we did! *L*

It was a big circus..we made it more difficult than it had to be. *L* But we got some pieces! I suppose it was a good idea cuz it was fun and we got a piece. Went back to his dorm and we talked a little and then we left!

Nothing else happened for this weekend, I just tried to read and stuff like that. :)

Monday: It was a strange day because I kept seeing people from my WAY-past. (not just high school) First, on my way to school, I ran into this girl from grade school. We weren't that great of friends, but she seemed to remember me even though we just had a few classes together. So we walked and talked together. It was interesting to hear some of what she's been doing.

Classics was fine. I talked to this guy next to me because he's one of the student aides for the psych class. He was nice, a little too soft-spoken so that made me feel awkward since I felt like I had to direct the conversation. And if you know me that's the last thing I really want to do! But he was nice and I talked to him, so there. :P Lecture was by that one cool lady with the kooky glasses and weird accent and it was fun, I dunno.

On my way to psych I talked to this girl who used to be my best friend in grade school. I think I may have mentioned her before, during autumn quarter (which was the last time I saw her). But something compelled me to go after her and continue talking, so I did that. :P It was okay but now I have to call her at the end of the week, which is NOW! Psych was horrible as ever. It seems like he spends way too much time on one topic when it can be taught in a few minutes. OY! I'm not even sure if I wrote anything down. :P

Had lunch with everyone. Then Annie and I went to the libarry to read for a few HOURS. And I actually read during that time and I remembered and learned. Weee! It was quite productive. Wilson came to get us so we read outside on the HUB lawn. We had cravings for Subway so we got lunch, again. *L* When we were eating in the HUB TV room, I saw this guy I had HS French with! I wasn't sure if it was him or not but it was. So I emailed him later at night and we've been emailing for this week. I'll see him sometime later. It will be interesting to see what he's been up to. :)

We had our evening class, which was literally a pain in the ass. I dunno here. It's interesting but then it's not and the book is a big bore.

Tuesday: My Arrogant TA arrived in class by saying: "Did anyone go to (insert place) to see (insert group)?" I mean, is that all he does or something? Are we supposed to think he's cool for that? That just irks me for some reason. :P I did talk in class but I said something that was "wrong"...well, it was WAY ahead of what we were talking about at the time. Oh well. I did try. :)

Psych was bad again, I lost my seat and I think that I'll just stop sitting there because I don't like being around all those Greek people. Ug.

Yesterday: It was another long day for me so I wasn't too happy. But we had psych section and it made a lot more sense than lecture, and he did it in half the time! Ha! I also understood our homework assignment much more, so I can do a better next week. *whew*

I was rushing to Classics since it's all uphill. I saw Annie on the other side of the stairs but there wasn't time to talk to her. (Turns out, later that day she told me she was thinking of me at that time too. Weird!) I made it to class on time but out of breath and I was pretty tired so I just listened to lecture. By that cool lady again. :)

I went over to Weese's tho I was pretty tired. We watched the Ainsley Harriett Show again and laughed...and I was itching to see TRL, but Annie came by and we all left for lunch! Tonight Jim was going to see Travis at the radio station and then Oasis at night. Luckay.

Lunch only made me hungier for some reason. Wilson went to class. Annie and I went to the geography computer lab for her to finish her assignment. I was doing email for a bit but then I noticed I was the only one typing and the keyboard was LOUD! So I just stopped. *L*

Went the libarry and read lots and handwrote an assignment for Monday. I picked up a copy of my transcript for the CMU schoo..and then we had class. It was boring! We had a guest speaker, who was okay, I guess. I just wasn't very interested in anything that day. I wanted to leave at break, but I stayed thru the whole thing. YAY.

I grabbed dinner on the way home and I'm really glad I did cuz Lar was gonna try to make Hamburger Helper without having any milk. *L* We ate and then he studied while I watched TV. I really hate these days since I get home so freaking late. Argh!

Today: It was a good day. I talked in section, twice. WOo hOo. *L* And it was a good question I brought up. :D No, the Arrogant TA did not mention going to some show the night before. *L* I suppose he's not that bad when he's not talking about music.

Psych was bad, and I heard two people behind me complaining. I thought that was amusing. I have a better seat now. It's a little farther back but it's the same seat, location-wise (next to the left-handed desk). So I'm happy. Not many people showed up today. Earlier, that student aide suggested that I read the material. *LMAO*

I met up with Lar to have lunch at China First. He was late! But s'coo. I had been thinking about it all day! And it was nice to eat together and stuff. Cuz we have no food at home. We're going grocery shopping tonight since I'm leaving for the weekend. *L* There was still some time so we looked at games and considered buying flowers.

But now I'm home. I wanted to update before I went home for the weekend. I get to see Jennifer! She's been sick lately, so I hope she feels betta, etc. Suppose that's all, I have a lot of reading to do and some other things for school as well. :) Talka latta.

Last old entry was April 1, 2000.

April 10, 2000: Doing fine, doing busy

My weekend was pretty good! Betty and I arrived in Olympia in good time, after factoring a few slow-downs along the way. We didn't do much the first night except go to Blockbuster Video to rent "Simply Irresistable." Additionally, she got a free voucher to rent "Sixth Sense" since they were out. We didn't really want to rent it. Hell, I was the one to bring up just saying the video wasn't in, so we could get something for free. :P She said she'd put my name under her membership so I can redeem it the next time we're home.

Saturday was the traditional Target/downtown trip. At least this time we were at Target with intent! Betty wanted to buy tissues. :P I picked up a Pur filter and a hair clip. Didn't do much downtown, there was nothing to "save" from that store. (Remember Roger?) We got home, and I sat around for a few minutes until I left to meet Jennifer.

Turns out Annie and Dawn were waiting for us outside Tops. I totally forgot Dawn was coming for the weekend, otherwise I would have called the day before...when I didn't feel like calling anyone. *shrug* We didn't know what to do so we ended up at Red Robin, where the girl basically called us pigs for ordering the Snickers cheezcake and eating it quickly. :P It was funny though, the things Jennifer says sometimes! *L*

Went to the mall next since there wasn't anything to do. Besides, Dawn hasn't seen it. Anyways. We were there a while actually. I bought a cool skirt from the Gap. It's dark blue and has those bungee cords, which I'm not gonna use, and a velcro "button" at the top. The material is like that parachute stuff you see, it makes noise and feels kind of velvety. Can you picture it? ;)

And in the American Eagle store I bought a pair of pants for $20. It came at a good time since I've been lamenting about only getting one pair of my Abercrombie pants last year. Well, I still only bought one pair of these AE pants, but still. I wasn't gonna fill out the application (which gave you a 15% discount on your first purchase) but Jennifer started filling it out for me, so I saved some dolla!

We went to Pic N Save, but I didn't buy anything. Afterwards, we sat in the Tops parking lot for a few minutes talking. Dawn and Annie left..and it was too early for me to return home, so I just followed Jen home. *L*

Talked for a couple owa..and it was goo cuz I had been wanting to spend some time with her, catching up and stuffs. It was nice! I left around 11pm since she was falling sleepa. *heh*

I tried to work on my CMU assignment during SNL but that didn't work. I did get most of one part done though. :P I was just really tired. The thing with being home for the weekend is that I can never sleep as much as I want. If it's not Larry calling me early, it's one of the family poking their head in and telling me to wake up because 1) it's time to eat or 2) time to do clothes. Besides, whenever I am home, I wake up at 9 ALL THE TIME.

B and I went back up on Sunday. First we stopped off at Southcenter, where I visited the AE there and bought ANOTHER pair of pants. These ones are more grey (charcoal?) with all sorts of pockets, zippers, and velcro. I likes! They were also $20.

Lar and I took a nap when I came back and then I finally got down to work. I had to finish the CMU homework and the application, both are due today. Lar helped quite a LOT in the application since I was in despair from my previous endeavors. :P I did as much on the homework so that I could finish it before class today.

Today was a pretty boring day. I'm not even sure if I had to be there. First, my Classics professor for the day was annoyed that no one was talking. I just didn't care. I suppose I was also feeling grossed-out because I had moisturized after my showa and you know that feeling when you use lotion and then have fabric rubbing? It's pretty gross. So I sat there just disgusted. *L*

Psychology was the film "12 Angry Men." *Snooze!* However, I didn't since I haven't seen this before. My homework for this class is due on Wednesday. :P And we need this film to complete it. Pah!

I went to the flagpole to meet Annie, since she called me at 8.45am this morning when I was still sleeping. Jim was sitting there, so I was like: "Didn't I tell you I wasn't gonna be here when we talked yesterday?" I did tell him, but I didn't say that Annie was going to be there either. Woops. My bad. I felt bad about that, but it's just such a bad day that I couldn't have, even if I wanted to. But Wednesday will be a better day for me. :))

Got home to Lar in pj's. *L* He changed and left for classes a few minutes later. He's such a slacker! He sets his alarm to wake up to catch Jenny Jones. *LOL* It's cute.

Anyways, I reread my CMU application, agonized over it, and then printed. I worked on my homework for a few minutes, in between calls from Annie, and I printed that out too. Crooked. It's something with the alignment, obviously, but I just don't care right now. I have a midterm on Wednesday! And I haven't read the last chapter from last week. UG!

So tonight Annie decided to drive to class, which is fine with me. I just need to be there by 5pm (which is also time for class) to turn in my application. Hopefully class will be more exciting, especially if we talk about our opinions on the homework. I hope that happens....

April 14, 2000: Haw!

..Well, class on Monday was shit. Annie picked me up with Dawn and Domingo in the back. I turned in my application, it was all good. But then the lecture started and it was horrible! I was annoyed in the beginning since I had emailed the teacher asking him for help early AM Thursday, and he got back to me on freaking Sunday. For cryin'....!

We did talk about the answers to the assignment and I'm disappointed to say that I did NOT say what he wanted me to. So I'm very very unhappy about it. :| But class was boring. I was falling asleep during the first hour but after break I was wide awake...to receive NOTHING useful at all. Haw!

They took me home, and I was starVING. I worked on my stuff for ....

Tuesday: It was quiz day in Classics. It was EZ! I think I did pretty good. It was a lot of writing tho, but I did finish and I'm sure I got most of them right, if not all of them. Go me! We were watching "12 Angry Men" in psychology since the week began. It's a good movie, it's better than lecture. I should have spent most of today studying but I ended up goofing off. I had a huge craving for Red Robin so we went there. Lar saw my AE pants and wanted some of his own, he got a pair. :)

Wednesday: It was another slow day. I didn't really care about anything and I felt bad because no one was participating in either classes and I should have done something. Oh well. Aftewards, I went over to Wilson's and I realized I hadn't seen him for about a week. We just talked until it was time for lunch.

It turned out to be a circus. When we first got there, there were tables but by the time we got out...there was NOTHING! And so we (Annie and Bennetts included) ended up walking in circles there and it was terribly embarrassing. But we went outside and finally got a table. WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH SINGLE PEOPLE OCCUPYING A WHOLE DAMN TABLE!!!!!!!! *ARGH*

So then Annie and I went to the library and studied. I did some goofing off. We went to class early and that's a good thing since more people showed up and even THO we have a seating chart some people didn't sit in their spots. I would have been so precious if someone was in MY seat. RAR.

But I don't think I did so well. It was six problems, mini-essay and whotnot. But it was terrible! I wasn't the only one who thought it was bad. I was outside waiting for Annie and overheard some people. One guy said he skipped a FEW and another girl said she skipped one. Now, why would you want to skip anything? How the hell are you gonna get points if you skip things? Geezus, people!

So we went home and I just crashed.

Thursday: Nothing happened.

Friday: Thank goodness today was Friday. I just did my two hours and went HOME! Lar's not gonna be in til late, but as I write it it's pretty late (6.30pm) since it's lab night. I talked to Annie on the phone for a bit and then I fell asleep...

Until someone kept CALLING me. OMG. And since the answering machine has been fucked up ever since Lar unplugged it; it doesn't work. So the phone continues to ring. I decide to just pick it up and hang it up right away. Done.

But then they called right back. I did it again. I took it off the hook but then it began to dial on it's own, so then I hung it up again.

And they called me. But I decided, to hell with it, I was just gonna let it ring. After a whopping 15 rings they stopped. Some people. If the caller was any one of my friends, I'm sure they would not have let it ring that long. So my only assumption here is that it would have been a telemarketer. Two called me in the span of 30 minutes earlier today so I bet those bastards are coming back!

But I thought it was interesting. Just a little thing I do sometimes when I'm feeling bad. If it happens to you, don't get offended because I will figure out who did call. :)

But that's it for today. I think Lar will be tired when he comes home. I want to do something though. Hmmm.. I will be seeing "American Psycho" with my sister this weekend. I've been reading mixed reviews but it has Christian Bale...Weee!

April 16, 2000: The Outback

Well, well! This weekend has been fine, a few interesting things have happened which I must tell you about. :D

Yesterday I got my letter from the Psychology department; so I got in. I should be more excited about it, but I'm not. Lar was more excited than I am. But I explained it like dis: "I'm not continuing because of it, I just need it to continue." So yeah, I am glad of course. So. And I decided that if I didn't get into CMU, then I would just minor it in and be out on time or something.

Lar wanted to celebrate the news. Foist we went to Alderwood to check out their AE but there wasn't anything there. :P We got some Orange Julius but Lar got all full on it and got tired cuz of it so we pretty much just went home. We did go to some game stores and I decided that I should pick up on some old-school Nintendo games before they become all cool and retro and popular. :P

So we went home and laid around until about 8pm. We had to go to Trader Joe's to buy stuffs and they close at 9pm. I had been watching "Breaking the Waves" all afternoon. Long movie, sad...

I bought a bunch of pad thai noodle packs and a chocolate hunk. I think I'll give up on that mac&cheez they have; I don't really like eating that anymore. Afterwards, we went to look at games since there was a sale and Lar picked up his NCAA Football 2000 game. Went home and I read a little.

I was wondering if we were gonna actually 'celebrate' my letter since it was getting dark and sometimes things turn out this way...But we went to the Outback Steakhouse. It was coo, we got the usual bloomin' onion and shared a chicken sammich. Here's where the fun starts.

Well, at some point during our meal the whole service staff disappeared. Lar had ordered a Coke, I only got water since I've been drinking too much soda....and he needed a refill. But there was no one around! Not our girl, not the next table...not even way down on the bar end. I mean, yeah we were there around closing time but still..hello? Service!

So Lar gets up with his cup and GOES INTO THE KITCHEN. He's gone for a few seconds and comes back out. Of course I'm asking him all these questions, ya know. It was weird. Then he got up and went to the front of the place where they greet ya and asked to speak to the manager. I'm assuming this since I was still at the table. I thought he just wanted to go up there and ask for the check cuz if it took this long to get a drink then how were we gonna get the check?!

While he was gone, another girl came by and got our plates and I asked for a refill. Then our girl came out with the refill, the check, and apologized. And I was like: "Yeah." Lar came back and I told him what happened. A few minutes later the manager came up to us and asked us what was wrong and Lar told her about the service.

We did get a free bloomin' onion out of this, but it was embarrassing for me. And I felt bad about it too..cuz uh, the girl brought out the certificate and our payment and she was crying. Well, she was on the verge of tears and I felt bad. She was in the back monitoring the food coming out of the window and asked another girl, prolly that 'other' girl to help us..but that girl didn't. So yeah.

Lar gave her a little peptalk before we left and she seemed to feel a little better. But we all knew she was cryin' tonight! I mean, she was prolly just 16 or 17 and this was her first job. She had braces with rubber bands and all..so.

It was an interesting turn of events. We went to QFC so I could pick up stuff for pad thai and then we went home. I was online for a bit but there really wasn't anything to do so Lar took over. He wanted to order some stuff at Half.com. We went to bed around 2am.

Today someone decided to call us so early in the morning! And I swear the phone rang 20 times or so. Argh! We need to get a message on our answering machine. *Grrr* Anyways, today was coo. I did so much reading; I'm surprised at myself. I only have one class left and then I'm FREE!

B and I didn't go see the movie since she went to the Tulip Festival and I was feeling lazy and all. So we may see it in Olympia when we go back this weekend and that's just fine.

Things coming this week are my psych homework on Wednesday (I hate weekly assignments), Classics quiz on Thursday, psych midterm on Friday..and I'm sure there will be other things to deal with. :P

One more thing: Go to ASKJESUS.ORG! Enter in the URL of your choice, I like using mine. ;) And then it'll take you to my page, only it's been "Jesus-fied." It's pretty funny, and of course not meant to offend anyone. :D Suffer unto my...what? *heh*

April 17, 2000: Caller 25

After I updated last night, Lar called into Kiss 106.1 for that Christina Aguilera contest. He off-handedly wanted to call in to see if he would win the whole thing: brunch with her and her mom in London for Mother's Day. Anyways, he told me to get offline and let him know so he could dial up the next time they were taking callers.

And as you would know it, he was Caller 25. This was the LAST time they were doing this too! Isn't that just interesting? It's totally deja vu from a few years ago when Allan called in after talking to me and won tickets to see Tori Amos. :P He won some Christina prize package and they announced the winner on today's morning show, but of course we were sleeping...I wonder...

So yeah..I had to come on and say that. And also, has anyone noticed that Celine Dion's song "That's the way it is" is similar to Back Street Boys' "I want it that way?" Just listen to it, the sound is pretty much the same. Especially when they both do that "Yeahhhh" thing.

I'm home until it's time for my evening class; I don't wanna go!!!

Annie also told me that it was Wilson I was hanging up on on Friday. *L* Sorry, Weese! :D

Bye!
