The Lewis/Clark Train Club formed in may 1997.

t;/P>

In May of the year (1997) a reality came thru for the birth of the Lewis/Clark Train Club. The picture above shows the original members and the Modular setup as it would look put together. Its beginning was months prior to the formal seating of the Officers of the Club. we started out with 10 people which since that time has grown to 35 people in just 6 months. Our club decided to go with the modulor constuction until a permenant home is found. It helps us to grow as we assemble these modules and not lose sight of our objectives. Which are to further the hobby of model railroading in all gauges and scales.

The club decided to go with the HO gauge MODULES due to room and size. These modules where broke up into 30' x 72' for the straight section and a triangle corner to match up the units.

New to our Modular layout (June 6 1999) will be a HO scale trestle bridge (built by Russ McPherson of the club). Bob Fazenbaker and Ron Hosmer will also be working on this project. This project could very well be the first of its kind ever to be put into a modular layout.

The club (as of June 98 ) has a temperary home from the kindness of one of our members to use his garage. it gives a chance to work on the modules as they would appear in a permenant home.Since that time we have moved see following paragraph.

we are in need of a permanent home so if you know of a place email me. I would greatly appreciate it , and the community would also enjoy seeing out layout. We have now added a "O" gauge and a "N" gauge layout to our club. This offers each member to work on his related scale and also to learn about the others at the same time. we are looking forward to having a "S" gauge to our club one day. We have had several chances to show our layouts thanks to the LewisTon Mall in Lewiston ,ID.

We are at the time of this entry June 6 1999 preparing to show our G gauge at the Lewiston Mall for the Christmas Holidays. This setup will be the first offical showing of our G gauge layout. although it will be on the stage at the mall nevertheless it will be a official showing.

We are also gearing up to hold a raffle at the mall. Some of the items for the raffle will be a Ho scale train set as well as other items. We are in debt to the Hallmark people at the Lewiston Mall for allowing us to use there building for our scenery. So next time you are in the Mall visit them and tell them thanks for being so kind to us.

The Lewis Clark Train Club has found a temporary home in Clarkston. We are located at Wasam's Drug store on six street on the second level of the store. we do not as yet have set hours that we are open for viewing . This is something that will be decided in the coming future.

The Lewis Clark Train Club decided to hold a mini Convention during the month of August. This is the first of it's kind to be held in the Lewis Clark Valley. The main events will be held at the Red Lion Hotel in Lewiston.

Another first for the Lewis Clark Train Club is that we have formed our own Bowling team . We started this year at the Lancer Lanes. We came in 8th out of 10th place. This was great for us since most of us haven't bowled in years .we will continue to bowl as long as we have people to form a bowling team. The team is open to members there familymembers (children over 18) and guest that are sponsored by a member.
