Q2 *Synopsis: April 11, 2001 John de Lancie guest stars with his son Keegan de Lancie Q's teenaged son Q2, a spoiled child with omnipotent powers, is dumped in the lap of his reluctant Aunt Kathryn Janeway for a week-long rehabilitation period, after which his reinstatement will be considered by the Continuum judges. With the child's powers temporarily stripped, the young Q2 begins to make progress, but a rebuff from his father puts Q2 back to square one and the Voyager crew in danger. Webmistress's thoughts: I don't know how long Keegan de Lancie (John de Lancie's son) has been acting, or if he has at all, but he was pretty good in this episode as Q2. Q was always my favorite actor on The Next Generation (TNG). Janeway showed character when she told Q that it was the parent's responsibility to raise the children. Q didn't seem like he cared to be around "Junior." Her reactions to Q reminded me of someone else Q often visited, Jean Luc. I don't know if it's Q practice, but the female Q in the Q Continuum who sentenced Q2 as a human really looked old. If the Q are immortal, why did she look so old? A little make-up couldn't have hurt (or was that what she was already wearing?). Icheb played a really good role. He seemed more human. I especially liked the nicknames they gave each other, 'Itchy' and 'Q ball'. This was a pretty good episode. There was just one little thing that needed help. WHY DIDN'T Q SEND THEM ALL THE WAY HOME?! Of course if he did that, we wouldn't have the last 6 episodes. Overall, I give it an A-. Your Thoughts Give me your thoughts! |
