Ladies and Gentlemen! By popular demand we proudly present the world famous Rosalie Circus!
As you will soon see we have some very creative and talented people in our class. To get the show rolling please put your hands together for the clowns!
(James M plays “Entry of the Gladiators”... clowns enter from various places, Jackson riding a tricycle, Sam squirting people with his water pistol, Jesse falling over, Chris setting off party poppers, Ryan pretending to wet audience with his bucket of streamers, Simon .............?. James M stops playing once clowns have finished their entry and have taken a seat).

Silence please as we now have great pleasure in presenting The Famous Five, our amazing acrobats!
(Mrs Lilly plays “Pushbike Song” as Acrobats enter and perform their routine. Clowns clear the mats from the stage, leaving one for following act).

We now come to the next act on the program. PRESENTING... Heavy Weight Champion of the World... “Macho Man” James Thomson and his manager “Mighty” James Minchin.
(As Emily introduces the weight lifter, clowns struggle and heave to carry James T’s weights onto the stage.
James M powders James T’s hands with baby powder. Clown (Sam) comes onto the stage to give bongo drum, drum roll. James T after much straining, successfully lifts the weight, only to put it down on James M’s foot. James M hops around and limps from the stage followed by James T. Clown (Jesse) casually walks across the stage, picks up the weight, puts it over his shoulder and walks off stage).

May I now direct your attention to the highwire. Introducing two people who don’t know the meaning of fear. Watch in amazement now as Rosalie Primary’s Dynamic Duo, Jillian and Stephanie attempt to cheat death. Not only will the Dynamic Duo attempt to cross the wire unassisted, but they will do so while balancing a stack of very expensive, fine bone China!
(As Emily is introducing the tightrope walkers, clowns enter to set up the ropes and soft chairs for the act.
Kate presses play on the tape player. Jillian and Stephanie, carrying their paper plates, slowly cross the “wire” one at a time. After the successful crossing, the girls bow to the audience. Kate presses stop on the tape player. Girls exit the stage. Clowns remove the rope only and move soft chairs closer together, ready for the lion taming act which is to follow).


At great expense. all the way from Africa, we now present the Great “Thunder” and his lions, Flame and Tornado!
(Enter Nathaniel shouting orders to his lions (Jessica and Sophie) and cracking his whip. Lions take up position on their soft chairs. After some ordering around the lions decide they will no longer listen to Nathaniel. They roar loudly, making Nathaniel drop his whip and back nervously away. One of the lions makes a quick grab for the whip while the other takes hold of the hoop. Lions force Nathaniel to jump through the hoop, then chase him from the stage.
Clowns remove the soft chair and hoop, placing the large mat on the ground ready for Rebecca L’s routine).

No circus is complete without a sideshow! Allow me to introduce to you our array of weird and wonderful people. May I firstly present to you Werewolf Boy and the Deadly Devil!
(Enter Tom K and Shaun... growling and clawing).

The Hideous, Headless lady
(Enter Kate... who drops her head on the ground, two clowns (Simon and Jackson) rush in, pick up head and play catch with it. Kate walks blindly around trying to find her head. Werewolf Boy and the Deadly Devil rush over to retrieve head from the clowns and give it back to Kate. Kate lines up with Werewolf Boy and the Deadly Devil).

We found our next attraction in the wreckage of a crash landed UFO. Please welcome Bug Boy!
(Enter Daniel, who approaches the microphone, makes the alien peace sign with his hands and says “I come in peace”. Bug Boy lines up with other freaks).

From the jungles of the Amazon we are proud to present a girl who lends a new meaning to the phrase “bend over backwards”. If you tend to be squeamish we suggest you look away! Please welcome... Fantastic Elastic!
(Rebecca enters, completes her routine and lines up next to others).

Once in a great while a person of great beauty is discovered. Our circus is proud to present Amy Lou, the Beautiful Two Headed Lady! (Enter two headed lady who, courtseys and lines up next to the other freaks).

Some of you may recognise this next hero. Ladies and gentlemen I present to you, straight from the land of Hollywood... Hercules! (Enter Toby, struggling with fake toy crocodile. He stands proudly before the audience. Chris sneaks up behind him, dangling a spider in front of his nose. Hercules screams and runs off stage. Clowns tackle the crocodile and carry it off the stage).

We hope you enjoyed our sideshow attractions. Please give them a round of applause!

Now it’s time for some magic. Fresh from their world tour, please welcome the one and only Stupendous Stu and his glamorous assistant the Amazing Anna!
(Stuart and Anna enter, wheeling trolley of props. Stuart, assisted by Anna conducts three magic tricks using participants from the audience).

Now for an act which we can only describe as explosive. Watch carefully now as daredevil, Atomic Tom, becomes a human cannonball right before our eyes. Can we have a volunteer from the audience to light the fuse for Atomic Tom?
(As Emily introduces Tom, clowns, under Tom’s guidance, bring out the necessary props... cannon, highjump bun and floor mat. When a volunteer is called for, a clown (Ryan) selects one child (or adult), leads them to the cannon and helps them to light the fuse. Ryan then indicates to the volunteer to turn away and block their ears as the cannon is about to fire. When the fuse explodes, Tom runs (screaming) from the cannon barrel into the awaiting highjump bun (held by the clowns). He collides and falls backwards (unconscious) onto the floor mat. Clowns drop highjump bun, pick up Tom on the floor mat and carry him off stage. Clowns return to remove cannon and highjump bun ready for the next act. Ryan leads volunteer back to their seat).

We will close our circus now with a juggling act that will undoubtedly prove to be a messy finale. He tells us that he usually juggles chainsaws for a living, but that today his chainsaws are in the repair shop, so he will juggle with raw eggs. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Simon the Great!
(Simon enters and proceeds to juggle the eggs. He juggles until Chris sneaks up behind him and fires a cap gun, scaring him and he drops one egg on the ground... Chris runs away. Simon, realising his act has been ruined turns his back to the audience and throws his remaining eggs over his shoulders, breaking on the ground).

That concludes our circus for today. We hope you enjoyed the show. Thanks for being such a marvellous crowd. Please don’t feed the elephants or tigers on your way out!
