As I walked
I noticed a flower
not a rose
but it had power
see, it stopped me
in my tracks
I saw that it was more

Some discard them
toss them away
others abhore them
not wanting them to stay
but I noticed, I stopped,
I stayed

This flower below us
has made my day
reminding me of times ago
when I noticed things
to you I'd show
I wanted to please you
and in ways I couldn't
nature would help me
leaving to me all credit

so you see this flower
a simple dandylion
made me think of you
and kept me from cryin'

now that is strong
for a little weed
but weeds would cower
without flower power!

If you only could see yourself through me. You'd see not a rose but the flower of love, pure as doves. I bide my time working for us, for dreams of ours, a life in just. My heart longs for you, for us to be near but our time away is spent being true. For our dreams are goals that's simply just that. For our biggest dream is already here. And though far away I still hold this dear. It's the love from you that dream of mine and knowing it's returned for all of time. That's our dream yours and mine. My lovely wife, I'm the richest in all- I Love You! FOREVER

I have Learned...

I've learned -
that you cannot make someone love you.
All you can do is
be someone who can be loved.
The rest is up to them.

I've learned -
that no matter how much I care,
some people just don't care back.

I've learned -
that it takes years to build up trust,
and only seconds to destroy it.

I've learned -
that it's not what you have in your life
but who you have in your life that counts.

I've learned -
that you can get by on charm
for about fifteen minutes.
After that, you'd better know something.

I've learned -
that you shouldn't compare
yourself to the best others can do
but to the best you can do.

I've learned -
that it's not what happens to people
that's important. It's what they do about it.

I've learned -
that you can do something in an instant
that will give you heartache for life.

I've learned -
that no matter how thin you slice it,
there are always two sides.

I've learned -
that it's taking me a long time
to become the person I want to be.

I've learned -
that it's a lot easier
to react than it is to think.

I've learned -
that you should always leave
loved ones with loving words.
It may be the last time you see them.

I've learned -
that you can keep going
long after you think you can't.

I've learned -
that we are responsible for what we do,
no matter how we feel.

I've learned -
that either you control your attitude
or it controls you.

I've learned -
that regardless of how hot and steamy
a relationship is at first,
the passion fades and there had better be
something else to take its place.

I've learned -
that heroes are the people
who do what has to be done
when it needs to be done,
regardless of the consequences.

I've learned -
that learning to forgive takes practice.

I've learned -
that there are people who love you dearly,
but just don't know how to show it.

I've learned -
that money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I've learned -
that my best friend and I can do anything
or nothing and have the best time.

I've learned -
that sometimes the people you expect
to kick you when you're down
will be the ones to help you get back up.

I've learned -
that sometimes when I'm angry
I have the right to be angry,
but that doesn't give me
the right to be cruel.

I've learned -
that true friendship continues to grow,
even over the longest distance.
Same goes for true love.

I've learned -
that just because someone doesn't love you
the way you want them to doesn't mean
they don't love you with all they have.

I've learned -
that maturity has more to do with
what types of experiences you've had
and what you've learned from them
and less to do with how many
birthdays you've celebrated.

I've learned -
that you should never tell a child
their dreams are unlikely or outlandish.
Few things are more humiliating, and
what a tragedy it would be
if they believed it.

I've learned -
that your family won't always
be there for you. It may seem funny,
but people you aren't related to
can take care of you and love you
and teach you to trust people again.
Families aren't biological.

I've learned -
that no matter how good a friend is,
they're going to hurt you
every once in a while
and you must forgive them for that.

I've learned -
that it isn't always enough
to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes you have to learn
to forgive yourself.

I've learned -
that no matter how bad
your heart is broken
the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I've learned -
that our background and circumstances
may have influenced who we are,
but we are responsible for who we become.

I've learned -
that sometimes when my friends fight,
I'm forced to choose sides
even when I don't want to.

I've learned -
that just because two people argue,
it doesn't mean they don't love each other
And just because they don't argue,
it doesn't mean they do.

I've learned -
that sometimes you have to put
the individual ahead of their actions.

I've learned -
that we don't have to change friends
if we understand that friends change.

I've learned -
that you shouldn't be so
eager to find out a secret.
It could change your life forever.

I've learned -
that two people can look
at the exact same thing
and see something totally different.

I've learned -
that no matter how you try to protect
your children, they will eventually get hurt
and you will hurt in the process.

I've learned -
that there are many ways of falling
and staying in love.

I've learned -
that no matter the consequences,
those who are honest with themselves
get farther in life.

I've learned -
that no matter how many friends you have,
if you are their pillar you will feel lonely
and lost at the times you need them most.

I've learned -
that your life can be changed
in a matter of hours
by people who don't even know you.

I've learned -
that even when you think
you have no more to give,
when a friend cries out to you,
you will find the strength to help.

I've learned -
that writing, as well as talking,
can ease emotional pains.

I've learned -
that the paradigm we live in
is not all that is offered to us.

I've learned -
that credentials on the wall
do not make you a decent human being.

I've learned -
that the people you care most about in life
are taken from you too soon.

I've learned -
that although the word "love"
can have many different meanings,
it loses value when overly used.

I've learned -
that it's hard to determine
where to draw the line
between being nice and
not hurting people's feelings
and standing up for what you believe.

I've learned -
its ok to cry when I feel hurt,
for it makes for a stronger person within.

I've learned -
that with every bad situation,
blossoms beauty and understanding.

I've learned -
there is always herdles in life but
its remembering that you've got the strength
to jump each one coming.

I've learned -
to truly and unconditionally love someone else you
must first love your self.

I've learned -
that life is too short to carry baggage,
so check it in at the nearest gate
and never look back.

I've learned -
sometimes you have to set your animosity,
pain, or anger aside
to make the right choices.

I've learned -
the smallest and most simplest things in life
make the biggest impact in our hearts.

I've learned -

that letting go is hard to do but is possible
with strong will & determination.

I've learned -
its hard to be the bigger person
and walk away but the reward is
a priceless feeling of peace in the heart.

I've learned -
the best things in life come in small packages.

They Say...

As I lie restless in my bed, a simple thought runs through my head. Are you thinking of me tonight? Are you wondering where I’ll be come light? Do you long to feel my warm embrace? To feel my gentle touch upon your face? Are you missing me through and through, as much as I am missing you? I long to hear your whisper in my ear, I long for the chance to hold you near. They say if you love something set it free, and if it comes back it was meant to be. They say if you love something set it free, and I lie restless here hoping you’ll come back to me.

Friendship

I am your friend...

that is here to stay.
Respecting your feelings
every single day.
My pockets may seem empty
but yet I dig deeper.
knowing my rewards
are paid back by my keeper.

I am your friend...

that listens night and day.
To help you with your concerns
and add light to the end of day.
My heart is open
to everything unheard, unseen.
To you, I give my presence
with an attentive gleam.

I am your friend...

that stands by your side.
To be your helping hand.
To be your guide.
Let there be sunshine
even when there is gloom.
Take away all unhappiness
and the thoughts that loom.

I am your friend...

when times get tough.
when it seems you can't
get out of the rough.
Life is a jouney
different paths we all take,
off the beaten path,
discouraged, disgraced.
Just get back on the road
that you know is right.
Follow your heart, take flight.

I am your friend...

that doesn't always agree.
We know the difference it is
to be you and me.
With smiles on our faces
and laughter in our heart.
keeps us together
and never part.

I am your friend...

who cares about your well being.
when you are depressed,
sick, or not feeling.
Don't let your heart
turn to stone.
Even when you think
you are all alone.

I am your friend...

till the end of time.
Don't ever forget.
We will always intertwine.
You are a precious person
that I will never forget.
so happy you came into my life
and that we have met!

The End...

After a while you learn the subtle difference
between holding a hand and chaining a soul.
You learn that love doesn't mean leaning
and company doesn't mean security.
You learn that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises.
You begin to accept your defeats
with you head up and you eyes open,
with the grace of an adult,
not the grief of a child.
You learn to build all you roads today
because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans
and futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.
After a while you learn that even sunshine burns
if you get too much. So you plant you own garden
and decorate your own soul,
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
You learn that you really can endure,
that you really are strong.
You really do have worth.
You learn and continue to learn,
with every good-bye you learn.
