When Did That Happen?

Lifespan: October-December 1998, Game Show Network Original
Host: Marianne Curan
Announcer/Co-Host: John C. Webber

First Round Format One: Two contestants try to answer more questions to advance to the jackpot round. Each question comes from a "decade category" and has three choices (one of which is obviously wrong). Correct answers score one point, and whoever scored more won a prize and moved on. Control passed after each question.

First Round Format Two: In this variant, contestants try to keep control of the game to be the first to answer a "prize question" correctly. The first seven questions in the round were on yellow cards. On a miss, the control passed. It was now possible to get a sweep win without letting the second player play, and it did happen at least once. Anyway, after the seven yellow cards came the purple prize cards. Whoever was first to answer one of these won the game and the prize.

Jackpot Round: Spelling bee style. The winner was the first player to correctly answer a question after his or her opponent missed one. Whoever did this won a $500 prize.
