Super Decades

Host: Marianne Curan, Nancy Sullivan

Premise: Four contestants try to answer questions based on pictures for a shot at the Final Decades Jackpot.

In the preliminary rounds, two players each had 30 seconds to answer questions based on pictures shown. Each answer was a decade, and was answered by pushing the appropriate button on the telephone. If an answer was not given in time, the "illegal clue" horn from P+ and SP was used to note this. Whoever had the higher score in the round won the game, a prize, and moved on to Dueling Decades. The champion was the first to play in round one. If the contestants tied after the main round, each contestant entered their answer to a tiebreak question. Whoever was closest won. In one case where both contestants gave the same answer, each player chose a letter in the GSN logo (numbers were randomly chosen from 1-100) and whoevers' number was higher moved on.

In Dueling Decades, each player again had 30 seconds to get as many answers right as possible, this time all the questions were from a single category. In season one, the categories were: Movies, TV, Music, Sports and Politics and History. In season two, Business was added to the mix.

Whoever won Dueling Decades won the game and played Final Decades. In this round, the champion had 45 seconds to answer 6 questions to win the jackpot. Each question came from one of three categories, and categories stayed in the mix until selected. Each correct answer won a $25 gift certificate. The jackpot started with 1 prize, and added a prize a day until won. One dry spell brought the jackpot over $7,500, and had over a dozen prizes. Champions stayed on until defeated or they won the jackpot.
