Couch Potatoes

Host: Marc Summers
Announcer: Joe Alaskey, Jim MacKrell

Premise: Two teams answer TV trivia questions for a chance to share $5,000.

To begin each of the first four rounds, a toss-up question is asked, worth 25 points to the team who answers correctly. That team then gets to answer three follow-up questions, worth 25 points as well. The catch is that each player is restricted to answering only one follow-up. On a wrong answer, control transfers to the opponents. Rounds three and four are played for 50 points apiece.

Round five has six questions: each player plays twice. The buzzers are linked to a randomizer, which determines the point value: 50, 100, 150, 200 or Couch Up; if the trailing team catches it and is right, they move into a tie with the leading team. After the sixth question, the leading team wins $1,000 and advances to the bonus game.

Bonus Round: "Channel Roulette"
Within a 30 second time limit, the players call out channels from 2-13, then try to identify the TV show by the cast picture shown. Each right answer earns the point value attached, from 100-500. One channel has Pay TV, which wipes out the points earned. Reaching 1000 points within the time limit wins $5,000 for the team, otherwise they get $1 a point.

Teams can stay on for five days, or until they lose, or, er, they are "Cancelled," according to the show.
