Battlestars

Host: Alex Trebek
Announcer: Rod Roddy

Premise: Two challengers try to capture celebrities in the best of the Hollywood Squares spin-offs.

Rules: The six celebrities were seated so that a triangle enclosed them. The six triangles had 10 numbers around them. The challenger randomly chose a number, and was read a question as in Hollywood Squares. On Battlestars, however, the celebrity was shown a pair on answers to pick from. Those choices were also shown to the studio audience, and the viewers, but not the contestant. If the contestant agreed or disagreed correctly, that number was dimmed, and that could continue the turn. If the player was wrong, the oppoenent then took a turn. When a celebrity was enclosed by three dimmed numbers, that celebrity was captured by the player who finished the job. The players went back and forth until either captured three stars. That player won the game, and took on the bonus game.

Bonus Game: In version one, the player won $500 for the first two questions answered correctly, and $10,000 for the third. In version two, the player could win $5000 for identifying a celebrity from three pieces revealed out of sixteen. Each additional piece cost $1000, and allowed the player to get help from a star.
