Inspiration Needed
---------------------------------------------------
I wish I had
The inspiration
To write a love poem
About the milky white of your unblemished hands
Or they way your eyes can bare your soul
Instead the moon is hidden tonight
Afraid to cast its face on the night
I wish that I could only see
A shadow of a midnight tree
To know the darkness covers me
And yet my soul imparts the truth
Of honesty, and love forsooth
But wait! What light from yonder window breaks?
Tis hope, and honesty, and fate
To light the foggy night with joy
To take me home on a riding toy
To move me through the darkest tunnels
To share my sorrows, end my troubles
And still, the darkness seeps so through
Fills the night with darkest doom
And keep away the morning sun
Which brings upon us deaf and dumb
Who know not pain, at least not now
And so this ends, but why, and how.
