This character is based upon the character who features in Book Seven of the "Wheel of Time" series by Robert Jordan.
___________________________
He is about 8 foot tall
His voice is like claws being dragged down a black board, but more so, for it can cause even the strongest willed people to vomit at it's vileness.
His skin, as all Myrddraals', is maggot white and repulsive.
His name means the "Hand of the Dark" in the Old tongue.
He wears a cloak of night, unmoving in even the strongest gale. He carries a sword, blacker than obsidian and more deadly than the deadliest of poisons, a staff of shadows.
As all Myrddraal he wears pitch black, scale-like armour beneath his robes, forged in Thakan'dar along with the swords, and just as evil.
He has adopted the inscription on the Horn of Valere as his own. Quite apt, considering what he is.
"Tia mi aven Moridin isainde vadin".
Translated from the Old Tongue it means "The grave is bar to my call".
Special rules:
To meet his eyeless gaze is to feel ultimate fear, for his gaze is of the deepest hatred. This is similar to an "Extreme Petrification" spell, but there is no resistance to it except an exceptionally high willpower. Also as it is not magic, it cannot be dispelled.
He can disappear simply by stepping into a shadow of any size. Watching him do so can cause eye trouble.
He has considerable control over shadows and darkness. He can manipulate them into shields, tentacles and his powerful staff.

Shaidar Haran serves Shai'tan, also known as the "Great Lord of the Dark" or the "Dark One". In a mountain called Shayol Ghul, in an area called The Blight, the Dark One is imprisoned, done at the moment of Creation by the Creator. On the slopes of Shayol Ghul is Thakan'dar, where all the weapons of the Dark are forged.
The Swords of the Myrddraal:These swords are forged in Thakan'dar, on the slopes of Shayol Ghul in The Blight. In the making of each blade, a human is used after the blade has been quenched. Once the blade is complete it is stronger than any metal known. Once the blade has cut, it kills within hours, though usually minutes. These accursed blades slice through armour like paper unless it is of a magical nature. The thickness of the armour is irrelevant as the blades' vileness will infect that also cleaving through like it is nothing.....
It is important to note that these swords do not injure or wound, they kill.......
So you know what he is and who his followers are, a description of the Myrddraal is below.
Myrddraal are creatures of the Dark One, commanders of Trollocs. They have no eyes but can see like eagles in light or dark. They are the height of a tall man. They have certain powers stemming from the Dark One, including the ability to cause paralysing fear with a look, to vanish wherever there are shadows. They wear cloaks of inky black hanging unnaturally still, without even a ripple. They carry black bladed swords which kill with even the slightest cut. Among their known weaknesses is that they are reluctant to cross running water. Mirrors reflect them only mistily. In different lands they are known by many names, among them Halfman, the Eyeless, Shadowman, Lurk, Fetch and Fade.
Myrddraal have a speed like no other. Faster than striking snakes, few people can parry their blows, and still fewer swords survive the parry.
Remember that Shaidar Haran is the Lord of the Myrddraal and so any abilities of the Myrddraal are intensified, as well as other powers...
Just decided to show readers what he is like by putting some bits in from the books about him.
Saidar smelled soft, but like something that would grow harder if pressed. No other Myrddraal could smell the difference. Shaidar Haran was like no other Myrddraal.....
Book Seven
Every time Demandrad made this journey, the spikes had all but brushed the top of his ead. Now they cleared the Myrddraal's by two hands or more. That surprised him. Not that the height of the tunnel changed - the strange was ordinary here - but the extra space the Halfman was given.
Book Six
For Wheel of Time readers: There is a rumour that Shaidar Haran will be named Nae'blis. That means he will have additional powers from the ones already demonstrated in the books.
Unless you haven't guessed yet, he is a VERY Evil character.
