About Me...
NOBODY KNOWS ANYTHING.
Not one person in the entire motion picture field knows for a certainty what's going to work. Every time out it's a guess-- and, if you're lucky, an educated one. - Willam Goldman I am a professional screenplay writer. My current credit, THE CONNECTION, is set to be filmed in 1999/2000. I have also provided script analyses for people from both major and independent film studios. I am a professional English instructor, certified in three states. I've evaluated thousands of essays, research papers, creative stories, poems, and I have judged several competitions. Since writing screenplays, I've thoroughly studied and applied the screenwriting methods of format, structure, story development, and character development as taught by some of the biggest guru names in screenwriting literature:

Syd Field: Screenplay and A Screenwriter's Problem Solver David Trottier: The Screenwriter's Bible William Goldman: Adventures in the Screen Trade Vicki King: How to Write a Movie in 21 Days Adhering to the tried-and-true principles of screenplay writing as put forth in these texts, the first script I had ever written was optioned within only THREE MONTHS of my completeing it! My producer was astounded by the script's readability and faithfulness to the rules of script writing. Until she had received mine, she had been mailed "scripts full of crap"! A script so conforming made her job of selecting a project that much easier!

What's His Motivation?
We'd be doing each other a favor! I LOVE to read scripts. I challenge myself to read as many scripts as possible --for a while, I was reading one script per night. However, I've fairly exhausted my source, Drew's Script-O- Rama. Drew's Script-O-Rama carries both produced and unproduced scripts, but the unproduced scripts are what attract my attention --they provide more of a challenge. I still read the produced scripts, however. Those scripts represent the work that has "made it". I think it's important to be familar with professional styles and techniques. The unfortunate thing about reading scripts out on screen is that I already know how it should be read --I know what to expect. But both types of scripts help me with my own writing. Being a former instructor, I KNOW that the more a person reads, the better he becomes at his writing (that goes for females too... heh, heh!).
