Famous Stories and Quotes from Adam, As Told By His Mother
"Adam's Ello-wa-dee"
The Ello-wa-dee is a twisting, gyrating movement of the arms and wrists accompanied by a Hopi Indian dance step, limping on one foot as if a tack was stuck in it, and simultaneously letting the head flop from left to right, chanting, "Ello-wa-dee, Ello-wa-dee, Ello-wa-dee..." It is by nature a circular dance, so several can perform within a small space.
side note: This is a dance Adam created and performed regularly at the age of 20 months.
"Rock Music"
At age 11 Adam was listening to one of his Petra tapes and sister Allison was objecting. Adam said, "Well,I like your music Allison, and Mom's music is gentle, but when you get in 3rd or 4th grade you like Rock-Music... 'til you're about 20." To keep the peace Mom said, "I have mixed feelings about this music," to which Adam responded, "I feel my career in listening to Christian Rock Music going down the drain."
"Gym Injury"
When Adam was in 2nd grade he had an injury in gym, so I took him to see the Dr. We were waiting in the xray department for the film to be developed and find out if he had broken any bones. After a while Adam said,"I can't stand the SUSPENSION anymore. I have to know what's happening!" His question to me later that day was,
"Why does God let us get hurt?"

When Adam was 5 he began violin lessons...but he got tired holding the violin...Music to my ears was
several weeks after Adam started taking piano lessons and during practicing his lesson he called to me, "Mom, I should have started piano earlier." When I asked him why, he said, "Because I like it!"
"I Love You"
Age 4, Adam called me into the kitchen where he was drawing and started singing to me, "Have I told you today that I love you?" with a big smile on his face and outstretched arms for a hug...How endearing and warm that felt!!
"Goldfish"
We bought 3 goldfish for Adam when he was 4 yrs old and he named them Freida, Fiddle and Joey. About a week and a half later, early in the morning Adam came into my room and told me, "One of the fish has his eyes closed and he isn't swimming around. You come and look for yourself." Later he said, "Isn't it sad one of our fish died? Do you think God has some little ponds up there if the fish dies and goes to Heaven?"
"Prayer"
Allison had a habit of sliding down out of her high chair after meals (or during). At lunchtime Adam, age
4, prayed,"And help Allison in her brain to remember not to slide down."
