"Hope" is
our pick of the litter from our girl Ruby's last litter whelped April
12, 2005. On the left she was about 8 weeks old and on the
right
she was 5 months old. She was shown at our UKC club show in
October 2005 earning two Best Of Breed Novice Puppy wins and a "Reserve
Best In Show Novice Puppy"
Hope
started her UKC show career at our UKC Club's 15th Anniversary show
where we hosted the 35th Annual UKC Fall National Specialty in October
2005. She took a Best Standard Female/Breeder-Handler win all
three shows with a Reserve Female win at the tender age of 6 months
giving her the first 15 points needed toward her Champion title.
We
attended the infamous after Thanksgiving UKC show hosted by the Cascade
American Pit Bull Terrier club on October 25th through the 27th in
Longview, WA. They held six shows in three days. We
showed
the second show on Friday allowing us time to groom dogs the night
before and not have to hurry to the show site so early in the morning
as it's about a two hour drive from here.
Hope earned her
first 35 point major in that first show with a "Best Of Winners" under
judge Dorothy Jacobs!
We showed on
Saturday both shows and in her first show she earned another 23 point
major under judge Dennis Blickenstaff!
Her second
show on Saturday earned her a third and final win with a 35
point major under judge June Pasko finishing her UKC Champion title
with a total of 108 points and three majors under three separate
judges. All at the tender age of 7 months! Needless
to say,
you could have blown me over with a feather!!!!
The
accomplishment of finishing your "Bred By Exhibitor" puppy is an honor
and AngelHeart~Eskies wishes to say "Thank You" to all those judges
that placed her there!
On
Sunday of that special Thanksgiving weekend we moved Hope up to her
first Champion class competition. They offered two shows that
day
and she took a Reserve Champion win in the first. She then
went
on to take her first Champion class win in the second show giving her
the first of five wins needed to complete her Grand Champion
title. Thank you to judge Sandra Drake for making that
possible!
Hope was shown in "Bred By Exhibitor" class at
the Puyallup, WA cluster
in January '06. She won Best Of Winners and Best Of Opposite
earning her a 3 Pt. Major! She's well on her way to finish
her
AKC title this year we hope!
Like
her mother, Ruby, before her we plan to show her all the way through in
"Bred By Exhibitor" class. A special class set aside for those breeders
wishing to show their progeny and not only judge the conformation of
the animal they are showing but the progress of the breeding program as
well. It's very special honor bestowed from the judges we
show
under and AKC also acknowledges those breeders that have finished their
animals from that class by awarding an additional "BBE Champion
Medallion"
It
looks as though Hope has figured out what she's done and is quite
pleased with herself...LOL. This is one little girl that has
all
the sweetness of temperament but the panache and pizazz that it takes
to win! She seems to like the ring and has the focus it takes
to
concentrate on me and what it is we're there to do. While
she's
still a youngster and has many months of maturing both physically and
emotionally, I'm excited to see where she's going to take us!
I
am excited to have a puppy again to show but a little bummed that we
finished class competition so quickly. While it's exciting to do it's
so much more fun showing in class competition. It gives the
dog
the ring training and etiquette they need to go on to the other level
of competition as they mentally and physically mature. We
still
have champion class competition to finish her Grand title and we also
have the AKC venue to pursue.
UKC
GRAND CHAMPION UPDATE!!!!!!
On
Mothers' Day 2007 our 3rd generation girl completed her UKC Grand
Champion title with Pizazz! Two weeks before she finished her
title she won her fourth Champion Class win at AEDAO's Saint Helen, OR
show with a Best Of Breed and a Group #1 Northern
Breed taking us in for Best In Show. Our judge had
to leave
early to catch a plane so was not able to place her Best In Show
selections. Had she of been there we might have brought home
a
Best In Show win. In either case we are so very proud of our
little girl and her accomplishments to date. She finished her
Grand Champion title on Mother's Day as if to say "Here ya go Mom, my
Mother's Day gift to you!" Please meet UKC GR CH/Int'l
CH/(Almost
AKC CH) AH's Sanctuary Of The Heart! Known to us as "Hope"
