RE: The Acceptance of the “Plan for the Clean up Procedure” prepared by Srini and Shalini.
The Clean up plan was prepared to formulate the cleaning activities
undertaken by the Youth group on monthly basis. The plan actually describes the division of the inner temple area
into zones and the volunteers’ strength required for the same. It also features
priority for the Zones.
Srini said that there should be delegation of the Zones among the
members. However, as it is unpredictable with respect to the no of people who
will participate, the delegation shall be made on the day of Clean up
Naresh suggested for a simple lunch, which needs minimum preparation
and this was accepted by all.
The proposals, which were put up by the plan include
1.
The special identities like badge or T-Shirt or badge.
2.
Buying a new Backup type Cleaner
The members accepted the plan with the following additions
Ř The Stock of the
present Cleaning materials will be assessed.
Ř Any further
requirement with regard to the cleaning material shall be addressed to the
Temple Executive committee.
Ř That the plan
will be presented before the Temple Executive Committee
Ř A Badge will be
provided for the members who take part in the clean up or other activities in
the temple.
Ř On routine
Clean-up days, there will be a simple lunch.
RE: The Ad hoc cleaning by the Youth Group.
Members put forward the following points
Rao suggested that the routine clean up plan should be formalised. The
other groups and individuals who do cleaning regularly, and during special
occasions like festivals. Those groups should be coordinated in such a way that
there is no overlapping of the timing or the cleaning activities.
Naresh pointed out the arrangement of Bommais in the Shiva Temple
Complex, which was thought that a separate project has to be devised.
Srini raised the question of cleaning the white moulds present in the
walls of the shive temple complex. Further, he suggested the cleaning of the
storeroom and put up a formal inventory for the cleaning products.
Rao suggested that the small Kopuram adjoining the Main Kopuram of the
Shiva Temple complex should be cleaned.
Naresh suggested that the area around the temple, which would be used
for the procession in the up coming festival, should be cleaned. He also
suggested the cleaning of mats.
Vasan informed that the Temple Executive Committee had identified some
of the tasks for the youth group.
Nathan expressed his concern for the lack of coordination among the
groups present in the temple in the last clean up day
Ř The mat cleaning
should be done in phases such that there is room for the drying the mat. A
separate project shall be devised
Ř The Store room
was undergoing some cleaning activities as of now and the plan to clean the
storeroom shall be discussed with the committee
Ř Cleaning of the
moulds shall be done in consultation with temple committee, which has to be
removed with a mould cleaner.
RE: The Sahasra
Kalaabhiskekam on 9th June 02
Rao suggested that the special clean up in view of the festivals such
as the up coming Abishekam shall be coordinated through the committee.
Bala also expressed that the people who were involved in the pre
function activities do not stay for the post function clean up and for the
Vessels that has to be cleaned after the function a plan has to be devised and
coordinated by the committee
Naresh suggested that the youth group could also provide some help in
the cooking on the day of Function. At the same time, he also stressed about
the cleaning of vessels.
Ř Besides the normal
clean up day that falls on the 1st June, additional activities will
be discussed with the committee along with presentation of the routine plan.
Ř A special plan
would be devised after consulting with the committee and coordinating other
volunteers who take part in the festival through the committee which does not
obstruct or overlap the activities of the different group and individuals.
RE: Website for the youth group and the temple.
Gururaj who had volunteered to coordinate with the temple committee and
the youth group for the development of website for the temple, had contacted
the temple committee. The temple committee at present is not position to
delegate tasks to the youth group or the volunteers from the University of
Wollongong.
Members felt that the present web site of the youth group can be
upgraded to be more informative.
Rao suggested that there should be a clear picture of the whole web
site in the first page of the site, which was unanimously accepted by all
present.
Srini had volunteered to provide some samples of the web sites he
conceived to boost the phase of the web site development.
Ř Srini and Gururaj
will come with a blue print of the web site in the next meeting.
Ř The issue of the
collection of contents will be dealt when the blue print is ready.
Ř The temple
committee will be kept in touch for the further information about their plans.
The meeting concluded at 8:45 PM. Special thanks to Bala for
