PLAN FOR THE CLEANUP DAYS

 

 

GENERAL CLEANUP PROPOSAL: -

 

 

The whole temple area (facing from the main entrance) can be classified as follows for cleaning up activities.

 

*  Right Block Sri Siva Complex (This covers the area around Sri Navagraha Deities, Sri Ganesh and Sri Durga Shrines ‘ZONE-A’)

*  Middle Block of Siva Complex – Area-B (This covers the area around Sri Siva and Sri Thirupurasundari Shrines ‘ZONE-B’)

*  Left Block of Sri Siva Complex -Area-C (This covers the area around Sri Murugan shrine ‘ZONE-C’)

*  Front Block of Sri Venkateswara Complex (This covers the area around Sri Rama and Sri Hanuman Shrines ‘ZONE-D’)

*  Left, Right & Back of Sri Venkateswara Complex (This covers the entire concrete prahara area around Sri Balaji Complex ‘ZONE-E’)

*  Front Block of Temple Complex (This covers the area just in front of Main Entrance ‘ZONE-F’)

*  Gardens, canteen and toilet facilities around the temple complex. (‘ZONE-G’)

NOTE: -

 

*  The preference will be given to LOW priority jobs only when we have sufficient head count.

*  Cleaning up toilets, canteen and watering garden will be done at the end of the day.

*  Each zone can be handed over to the specific members permanently and each month they can interchange the zones. (This has to discussed in the team meeting)

 

STARTING THE CLEANUP WORK

 

*  Get together of all members just behind the Murugan Temple

*  Head Count of members

*  Assess & classify the workload

*  Assign work to the team members

*  Arrange & Provide cleanup equipments

 

LIST OF ROUTINE CLEANUP WORK

 

*  Cleaning archana plates and pooja vessels, if required

*  Dusting of the individual shrines in all zones

*  Sweeping floors (should be done after dusting the shrines)

*  Washing the lower parts of the shrines with soap and hosing down (after dusting shrines and sweeping floors)

*  Scraping and cleaning up bird droppings and oil spots

*  Mopping floors of Shiva complex and hosing floors of Venkateswara complex using karcher

 

TASKS FOR THE GARDEN

 

*  Removal of weeds from garden bed

*  Trimming dead branches off the plants

*  Fill wheelbarrows with woodchips and placing on garden beds

*  Spread woodchips in garden bed using rake

*  Plant individual plants and seedlings in the garden

*  Cleaning of toilets and canteen area (for festivals)

 

ACTIVITIES DURING THE FESTIVAL TIME

 

*  Pre-festival cleanup activities

*  Work in the garden

*  Interior Decoration

*  Rangoli / Kolam Decoration

*  Assisting the Priests

*  Post-festival Cleanup activities

 

PROPOSALS TO BE MADE TO THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

 

*  To purchase a backpack style vacuum cleaner

*  To put wire screens on all main doors of both complexes in order to prevent the birds from coming into the temple to dirty the floor

*  To fix up the hole in the roof of the RH platform near the main entrance of Siva complex

*  To paint all shrines, keeping in mind the quality and the uniformity of paint

*  If the members are through with their work, they can contribute to other teams
