The Offspring is an excellent Orange County Punk Band. They Have been a band since 1984. Their first release was the "I'll Be waiting" 7". There are only 1000 of them in existance, and the packaging was all hand guled by the band them selves. Then In 1989, a Small San Diego Record company, Nemisis Records. This Original Self Titled(1989-1995) CD also is few in existance. But in 1995, Dexter's Record Company, Nitro Records , Rereleased this CD with new cover art. This CD is Excellent. It's lyrics speek of Defiance from athority.
The Offspring Then released another 7", "Baghdad"(1991) in response to the Gulf War. This release was Also Very Rare, 3000 in existance. The songs capture the same style and Flair.
The Offspring then were signed to the Famed Epitaph Records and made another Great record, "Ignition"(1992). This Reord was a tad Darker, But had the same Fast pacied, Nitro Fueled Fire that the 1st One had. This CD is also One everyone should have.
The Offspring's 3rd Record is the one that got the all the fame. "Smash"(1994) Came out in April, 1994, "the Year that Punk Broke". With Rancid and Green Day Gaining Popularity, The Ogffsprng Released It's 1st single...'Come out and play (ya Gotta Keep 'em Seporated)' This song got Lots of air-play on Radio and Tv. Then, Rideing High off teh success of 'come out and play', They released my Personal Fav., 'Self Esteem'. This song Got Even More air play and volted the Offspring into superstartem. The Video for 'Self Esyteem' Is 123 best video of all Time and 76th best in the 90's The Offspring Then Released the single 'Gotta get Way'. This is the lesser know of the 3 and got less popularity, Possibly due to the fact that it was released so much later than the other 2.
The Offspring's Most recent Album is "Ixnay on the Hombre". This album has many different styles. The same old Fire is back with such Songs as 'All I Want' and 'The Meaning of Life', and the ska-ish sound of 'Don't Pick It Up'. Not as good As "Smash" But compared to the other records people buy, 20 times better.
