Until
Until you’ve given your best and had it not be good enough,
you couldn’t comprehend my lack of modivation.
Until you’ve lost sight of your dreams,
you haven’t lived with my hopelessness.
Until you’ve counseled your parents through a near divorce,
you haven’t felt my confusion.
Until you’ve seen a grown man break down in tears,
you don’t know my despair.
Until you’ve watched the ones you love, slowly smoke their lives away,
you haven’t experienced my sadness.
Until you’ve heard the stongest women in your life say she’s ready to die,
you couldn’t understand my devastation.
Until you’ve fallen asleep thinking about the same girl each night since you met her,
you wouldn’t know the depth of my passion.
Until you’ve expressed your emotions and had them thrown back in your face,
you wouldn’t understand my shyness.
Until you’ve realized that the man you are supposed to resemble is nothing like you,
you haven’t experienced my frustration.
Until you’ve seen a friend die for no apparent reason,
you can’t conceive my faithlessness.
Until you’ve lived it my life,
you don’t have any right to judge me.
