All In A Dream
If I die tonight and do not awake,
what memories with me will I take?
In my last hour did I do the right things,
did I secure the great peace that heaven only brings?
I wished "goodnight" to the ones I love,
and asked for help from God above.
"Sir or Madame if can hear me now,
answer me this, please, tell me how!?"
"This one that I love, she know not how great,
so simple to tell her but not in this state."
"Please God! I ask you, what should I do,
how can I tell her my love is so true?"
She is the angel I think of all day,
and when I sleep she goes not away.
Behind closed eyelids, she waits for me,
she fly's through my head, setting me free.
Together we dance to sweet songs unknown,
Yet sadness strikes, for soon I'll be alone.
I hold her hand tightly knowing soon we shall part,
opening my arms I show her my heart.
Seeing her reflection she smiles up at me,
it is not a smile of can't be, but a smile of some day, maybe?
Opening her wings, she fly's far away,
Signaling the start of another new day.
I open my eyes and think of her,
thinking how differently I wished things were.
Again to God I ask, "why have put us so far away,
why in my dreams could I not stay?"
