RCY Training Curriculum for Cadet Unit

The curriculum proposed 9 core activities and 2 optional activities. The activities should be covered within the constraints set by individual schools. The hours recommended should not be viewed as a standard, but rather a guide on the percentage of time for each subject. For the badges to be awarded to Cadets, a more detailed reference is available (Ref: Red Cross Youth Incentive Badge Scheme).

In addition, members are encouraged to actively involve in health and fitness issues, personal and environmental hygiene.

There are also enrichment courses organised by Headquarters which cadets are encouraged to sign up. These courses have limited capacity and are on a first-come-first-served basis.

The 9 core activities that are identified for the RCY cadets are

Community Service

Community Singing

Evacuation

First Aid

Footdrill

Fund Raising
