“Yeah?” Katie asked.
“I wanted to apoligize for the other day at the, uh, coffee shoppe,” Josh told her.
“It’s alright,” Katie told them, as they began walking.
“We were totally harsh on you,” Josh told her.
“I’m over it-really,” Katie told him.
“Hey- remember in season one, when we filmed Modern Romance, excuse me, Double Date?” Josh asked.
“And you pushed me into the water? I still can’t believe I forgave you for that,” Katie said.
“I’m just too damn charming, that’s why,” Josh said.
“You’re full of it. What made you think of that?” Katie asked.
“I’m not really sure, just kind of popped into my head. Those tag lines sure do apply to real life and the show,” Josh commented.
“First season was purely simple- until we kissed. Second season, every thing that season one had built up, had changed. “The couple” broke up. Third season- what is the tag line for season three?” Katie asked.
“Um, I’m not sure. I believe they are using Joey’s ‘It’s a new year- anything can happen’ or something like that,” Josh replied, unsure.
“Oh,” Katie scrunched up her nose, “I have to do that scene tomorrow.”
“At least this time you’re not ripping your shirt off, it’s much more conservitive way, you know, as conservitive as that situation can get,” Josh told her.
“Yes, it should be much more comfortable-not,” Katie said.
“Well, after what, fifty takes? It will be over,” Josh said.
“Gee, thanks. That makes me feel so much better,” Katie told him.
“I gotta go get ready to shoot the ‘Pacey, go make sure Joey’s okay’ scene,” Josh told her and went towards the set.
Katie watched him retreat, Josh had stirred up some of those emotions from their breakup that she didn’t want to deal with. She checked her watch and went to her assigned location.

“Hey, Josh,” Brittany walked up to him as soon as him and James had finished the scene.
“Hey Brittany,” Josh replied.
“So what do you say we go and get something to eat?” She asked.
“Uh. I can’t I still have a scene to film,” Josh told her.
“What one?”
“The big Pacey and Joey becoming friends one,” Josh told her.
“Oh. You and Katie, is she alright? She was acting weird last night,” Brittany asked.
“Yeah she’s fine. In fact I just talked to her before this scene- she sounded fine,” Josh informed her.
“That’s good.”

Katie went to look for Josh, it was almost filming time, she finally spotted him talking with Brittany. She walked up to them.
“Time to act,” She told him.
“Great, I’ll see you later Brittany,” Josh said as he and Katie walked back.

James and Kerr threw the football back and forth on the field used on the set.
“Isn’t it great when you can just relax instead of filming and watch the poor people that do on the monitor?” Kerr joked.
James laughed as he threw the ball.
“Who are the lucky people anyways?” Kerr asked.
“Josh and Katie, I believe,” James answered, sitting down on the bench.
“The dock scene,” Kerr said, taking a sip of water.
“Uh-huh, I can see the fans rejoicing already,” James told him.
“Why is that?”
“First scene Pacey and Joey have had alone since ‘Breaking Away’,” James told him.
“Really?” Kerr asked.
“Yeah, the had like three scenes last year where they were in the same room. I guess the writers thought that you and me would distract the viewers from the fact that Pacey and Joey barely talked at all last season,” James explained.
“Wow. I hadn’t really noticed,” Kerr admitted.
“That’s because you weren’t here in the first season. I think Joey had more scenes with Pacey then she did with Dawson,” James told him.
“Really?”
“Yeah, or at least close to it,” James replied.
“Katie and Josh dated during season one, right?” Kerr asked.
“Yeah,” James answered.

Katie could smile at how it was easy to say Joey’s lines while she was bantering with Pacey. But the words that Pacey was saying were hitting a little too close to home. She knew one thing- she’d be ready for that crying scene coming up in a couple seconds. He wrapped one arm arround her and pulled her closed, then the tears came. Suddenly, they weren’t their charachters anymore- they were Katie and Josh.
