Joshua Jackson sighed and took another sip of his coffee. He heard the door open and he looked up to see who came into the coffee shoppe, it was James Van Der Beek. James spotted Josh and sat next to him.

“Hey man, how long you been here?” James asked.

“About ten minutes,” Josh told him, as the waiter filled up a cup of coffee for James.

“Who’s not coming today?” James asked, as he took a sip of coffee.

“Meredith, not until next week,” Josh informed him. They looked up and saw Michelle Williams sit down across from them.

“Hey, guys, Whats up?”

“Not much, just waiting for everyone,” James replied.

“I saw Kerr parking his car when I came in here, so he should be here any second,” Michelle informed them.

Kerr Smith walked in, and sat down next to Michelle.

“Hey guys, we just waiting for Katie now?” Kerr asked.

Josh, Michelle, and James nodded.

The waitress came back and poured coffee for Michelle and Kerr.

“So seeing that she isn’t here yet, has anyone talked to Katie during our hiatus?” Kerr asked.

“Not since Muppets In Space,” Josh replied.

“I talked to her once on the phone when she was working on The Wonder Boys,” Michelle told them.

“I haven’t heard from her,” James said.

“Neither have I,” Kerr admitted.

Josh looked at his watch and shook his head in mock disbelief, “These big movie stars, always have to be ‘fashionably late’,” Josh said jokingly.

They all laughed.

“Hey, what’s so funny?” Katie Holmes asked her friends/co-stars.

Everyone looked up and noticed Katie had arrived.

“It’s nothing,” Michelle said, while Katie took a seat next to Josh.

“Oh,” Katie said, feeling detached from the group. She had been ever since GO came out.

“So when’s rehearsal?” Kerr asked.

“In a hour,” Josh told him.

“It’s not going to be the same without Kevin,” Michelle spoke up.

James, Josh, and Katie nodded in agreement. Kerr didn’t know what to say, he didn’t know Kevin that well.

Everyone sat around the table awkwardly, not sure what to say. Michelle finally spoke up.

“You know how I did live theater during the hiatus?”

“Yeah, you did Killer Joe,” Josh said.

“You guys should try it, it’s a great acting experience,” Michelle told everyone.

“I know, when I did Sheannadoah. I think that really help me become a better actor,” James agreed.

“Just don’t do soap operas, those have to be the worst things to work on,” Kerr warned them.

“I can only imagine,” Michelle told him.

“I find doing a small roles a great acting experience, because if you do a great job the audiance notices and sometimes says you stole the show but if you didn’t do that great of a job, no one really notices so you don’t get insulted,” Josh told them.

“Good point. Any interesting or embarrassing love scenes?” Michelle asked.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

It was twenty minutes later, and Katie was feeling left out. It seemed like they were intentionally leaving her out too, they never gave her a chance to talk or asked her a question. Taking the hint Katie got up.

“I’m going to go settle back into my apartment so , I’ll see ya guys later,” Katie said, then left.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Katie opened the door to her apartment, she saw that she had two messages on her machine, the first one was from her agent, telling her about promoting ‘Teaching Mrs. Tingle’ later that month. It was the second one that was more important to her.

“Hey, Katie it’s Kevin. What’s up? Hope all goes well at the set, I’m really going to miss you guys. I’m watching Tingle’s finial version. Although, they are going to have to put a new commercial on air for it, they didn’t think that the dog drinking the beer scene was appropriate for a TV commercial. Call me later. I’ll see you at the premiere, can’t wait.”

Katie smiled at the message. She’d have to call him after rehearsal. She got changed and headed out the door. Fully prepared to spend another season as “Joey Potter”.
