Love and Happiness
Disclaimer: Y’all know the drill...I don’t own ‘em, I have nothing to do with the show, the WB, Columbia-Tristar, Kevin Williamson, or anyone else that has anything to do with Dawson’s Creek, aka the best TV show EVER!!!!
Rating: If you watch the show you can most definitely read this.

“No Dawson! I can’t, we can’t OK? You have to accept it and move on!”
“Like you have, you mean?”
She scowled at him and stood up to leave. “That’s not fair! You have absolutely no right to take this out on him!” she paused. “I’ll see ya later.” He dropped his head into his hands, exhaling deeply. Bringing his head up just slightly he watched her climb out of the window, wishing he could stop her...stop her from walking out of the room, the conversation, and out of his life. He fell back on the bed and began to cry softly.
“And...cut! That was great guys!” James lept off the bed, grateful that they were finally done for the day. It was three o’clock in the morning and he was physically and emotionally drained. Katie came back in through the window and literally collapsed into “Dawson’s” desk chair.
“Oh thank God we’re finally done!! I thought this day would never end!” James pulled her up and they started down the stairs to go home for a few brief hours before they had to be back...doing it all again.
“So where’s Romeo? I haven’t seen him all day.” As if on cue, they both heard the sarcastic and addictable laugh that could only belong to one man...Josh Jackson. He was standing a few feet away with his back to Katie and James, talking to Meredith Monroe and Kerr Smith. Katie put a finger to her lips signaling them to keep quiet while she snuck up on Josh.
“Boo!” she yelled as she reached out and grabbed him around the waist. He jumped and then whirled around to see his attacker.
“Hey! You know you really shouldn’t scare people like that. Especially old fogies like me. Who knows, I could have a heart attack and die right on the spot! Then you’d feel bad!”
“Well if someone isn’t overreacting just a little about their birthday! Josh your turning twenty-one, not fifty; get over it.” She smiled her patented crooked half smile. “Besides, I don’t think that I’d be too heart broken if you died...you know I don’t think I’d have a problem moving on.”
“Oh really? Gee thanks!” He pulled her in for a kiss. Everyone groaned inwardly. They had seen enough of these two constantly playing tonsil hockey with each other. After awhile it just got plain annoying.
“OK, well I think we’ll just leave you two alone now...” The lovebirds hardly noticed as the other three walked away stifling gagging noises and laughs. All that mattered was that the two of them were in love. And that’s all that either of them needed.

The next morning Katie sat in her trailer thinking about what a great life she had. She was doing a hit TV show, starring in movies, and most importantly, she was in love. Not with just anyone though. No, she was in love with the single most handsome, caring, generous, funny, charming, sweetest guy in the entire world. She was in love with Josh Jackson. She smiled as he remembered how it had come to be...
They had been walking down by the docks on a break from shooting. It was February 20, around midnight, and surprisingly chilly for North Carolina. Katie watched him as they walked in the moonlight. She saw a far away look in his eyes that made her feel like she didn’t know him at all. It scared her in a way. She shifted her gaze up to the stars and took a slow deep breath, letting herself get a little lost in the sky. When she looked back at Josh, she was surprised to see that he was looking back at her. She smiled shyly.
“What?”
He shook himself a little as if he was coming back to reality. “Nothing.” He continued walking, his gaze concentrated now on the ground.
“You okay?”
He continued to stare at the ground “Yeah, I’m fine.”
“Are you sure? You don’t wanna talk about anything?”
He laughed nervously. “No, of course not.”
“Okay Josh, spill it! I know you too well to know when something’s wrong.” She stopped walking and sat down on one of the benches along the docks. “So what is it?”
He turned and looked at her. Was that fear she saw in his eyes? He stood rigid and tense as if he were standing before a firing squad about to lose his life. He sat beside her, hanging his head, unable to look her in the eyes.
“Kate, these past couple of weeks, actually months, I’ve had something on my mind. Ever since we broke up this...this thing, has been running itself rampant through my mind. And I’ve been struggling so hard with it, because every fiber of my being is telling me that I shouldn’t do it, and it’s wrong, but...I just can’t stop myself anymore.”
Katie was confused. “Stop yourself from doing what?” He looked up at her. Looked deep into her beautiful brown eyes, then he kissed her. This was more than she could handle. Katie had been waiting for this moment to come ever since they had broken up almost a year ago. When they had broken up, she hadn’t wanted to, but it was for the best she had decided. And now that this was happening...all her prayers had been answered.
Josh’s kiss burned with someone she’d never encountered before. All the built up passion and emotion he had bottled up for so long came pouring out in this one sweet kiss. Without thinking, she found herself kissing him back and returning all the pent-up emotion and desire. It was a few minutes before they finally pulled apart and stared into each others eyes. Then, without another word, they stood up and began walking back to the set. He looked over at her grinning from ear to ear. She returned the smile and placed her hand into his.
