Dis-claim-it: Dawson's Creek belongs to KW and the song 'Lightning Crashes' belongs to Live, specificly-Edward Kowalcyk.
Summary- The song/plot has to do with the life cycle its self but the story mainly focuses on Joey and has a little bit of my fav. couple's romance. It begins with her being born than goes to her mother dying, etc. Read the verse from the song before each 'story' and you shall get the fic.
Lightning Crashes, A new mother cries
her placenta falls to the floor
The angel opens her eyes
the confusion sets in
before the doctor can even close the door
Lily Potter smiled at her husband as Dr. Clouden placed the new baby girl into her arms. She rocked the baby gently.
"So have you thought of a name yet?" Mike Potter asked her, looking down at his new daughter.
"I'd like Josephine May," Lily said thoughtfully while playing with her daughters tiny figures.
"It's nice," Mike said picking up his five year old daughter, Bessie.
"Why that?" Bessie asked.
"Well, Josephine after a charachter in my favorite book and May because it was the middle name of the author. Besides, it sounds pretty," Lily explained.
"It's a pretty name," Mike said.
"Prettier than Elizabeth?" Bessie asked, referring to her full first name.
"Same as," Mike told her.
"Same as," Lily agreed.
Lightning Crashes, an old mother dies
her intentions fall to the floor
the angel closes her eyes
the confusion that was hers
belongs now, to the baby down the hall
Dawson Leery wrapped his arm around his best friends shoulders and lead her away from the hospital room, when they went out to the waiting room his other best friend jumped up at the site of them.
"Hey Joe," Pacey Witter greeted her tenderly.
She just nodded a greeting.
"She's, uh," Dawson began trying not to say it. He had never seen Joey so sad and weak before and he wasn't anxious to see another tearful breakdown of her.
"I'm sorry, Potter," Pacey told her.
This time she only stared off into space.
"Hey," Mike Potter greeted them.
Joey's eyes changed moods, from sad to angry. Pacey saw this and grabbed her hand.
"Dawson, you haven't had anything to eat in a while, why don't you get something to eat and Joe and I will go for a little walk," Pacey told him and brought Joey into a different wing of the hospital.
"I can't believe he came here," Joey said with a scowl.
"It's his wife," Pacey attempted, but knew it was useless due to the fact that Mr. Potter had been cheating on his dying wife.
"Like that matters to him, if it had he wouldn't of gone around her back with bleached-bimbos cocktail waitresses, would he?" Joey pointed out.
"I know, but focus on memories of your mother," Pacey suggested.
Joey took a deep breath and sat down on a bench, Pacey sat next to her.
"I know, it's just--" She sighed, failing to say what she had wanted to.
"I know, I know, Potter," Pacey said.
"I don't wanna go back there right now, what do you have planned?" Joey asked him.
"Well, when my grandmother died, my mom said 'For every life gone, there's always a new life born'. So she brought me down to another wing of the hospital to try and cheer all of us up, or at least me and my sisters, my dad and brother were on duty," Pacey told her.
"Did it work?" Joey asked.
"A little bit, it doesn't replace your loss but it shows you hope and reminds you of when you had a blindness of personal tradgidies," Pacey explained.
"I'll try it," Joey told him.
"Follow me than Joe," Pacey said, wrapping his hand around her arm and leading her to the maternity wing.
"Here we are," Pacey said, pointing at the window where you could see all the babies. A nurse was setting down a baby girl and had come out when she saw Joey and Pacey standing there.
"Hey," She greeted them.
"Hi," Pacey and Joey replied.
"Just looking?" The nurse asked.
"Yeah, what's her name?" Joey asked, pointing at the baby girl the nurse had set down a moment ago.
"Lillian June," The nurse said.
Joey looked at Pacey and smiled.
Oh now feel it comin' back again
like a rollin' thunder chasing the wind
forces pulling from the center of the earth again
I can feel it
Joey didn't know why she went back to the cemetary, she had been there once already with Dawson to see her mother but she felt the need to return. She squated down infront of it and rocked her self back and forth like she had after sitting with her mother when she was sick from the chemotheorpy.
"The past always has a way of catching up, eh?" A voice came from behind her, she recognized it immeaditly.
"No it doesn't, it stays with you the entire time," She replied as he sat next to her on the ground as she also sat down.
"True," He agreed.
"So what are you doing here, Pacey?" She asked.
"I was driving Andie crazy by making sure she didn't go crazy, so she told me to get lost for awhile," Pacey said.
Joey chuckled.
"You think that's funny? I got a millon more," Pacey told her.
"I know you do," Joey told him.
"Why is that we only seem to have a civilized conversation in these type of events?" Pacey asked.
"Hormone imbalance?" Joey suggested.
"Must be. So what are you up to?" Pacey asked.
"Closure, I guess," Joey told him.
"Don't we all need it after awhile?" Pacey asked.
"Yup," Joey told him.
Lightning Crashes, a new mother cries
this moment she's been waiting for
The angel opens her eyes
Pale blue colored iris, presents the circle
and puts the glory out to hide, hide
Joey tapped her pen on the birth certificate, trying to decide on a name.
"Any suggestions yet?" She asked her husband who was holding their new baby girl.
"Uh, how 'bout Claire Julianna?" He asked.
"I like it, Pacey," She told him as she wrote it down onto the birth certificate.
"Besides if she hates it when shes older, she can always shorten it to CJ," Pacey said.
"If she wasn't in your arms, I'd throw this pen at you," Joey told him.
"See, your mommy is already threatening me, guess everythings back to normal, huh?" Pacey asked CJ.
"Let me see her," Joey told him putting down the birth certificate and pen.
"Should we?" Pacey asked the baby.
"Pacey," Joey said in a warning voice.
"I'm coming, I'm coming he said as he placed the baby into her arms.
