Bobby and Lindsay...who are now engaged, have a very long history. A history which
hasn't always gone
the way they would have liked it to be. Lindsay has liked (loved) Bobby since law
school, and shared
these feelings with her best friend..Helen Gamble. Years later, Lindsay and Helen
were to meet again,
and Lindsay is still in love with Bobby. Helen soon starts to like Bobby and decides to
make a 'move'
on him at a Halloween Party. ("Search and Seisure" season 2). (after of course asking
Lindsay if she
still had feelings for him) What Helen doesn't know is Bobby and Lindsay had been
having a secret
relationship. They promised to keep it a secret, and promised that if they were to find
someone who
might be 'it' they would end it. Bobby had decided Helen was 'it' in the episode "Save
the Mule" which
was also in season 2. Though we all know now he was wrong. That night, Bobby and
Lindsay decided to
make love for 'the last time'. Soon after, Helen and Bobby's relationship was put on to
the test when
Helen found out that Bobby had slept with Lindsay in the past.
They soon broke up and for a little while Bobby was without a partner. In the episode
"Checkmate" Lindsay
asked Helen if she and Bobby were still in a relationship, and Helen tells her they're
not. (Which I'm sure
Lindsay would have been happy about) In the episode after that...."Trees in the forest"
Lindsay causes an
uproar, when she demands to be made partner in the firm. She thinks that equity is
what the firm needs. This
makes Bobby extremely mad. (look at the transripts page to look for the
converstions). Later, in his office,
Bobby blames Lindsay for all the friction in the office. She opened up Pandora's Box!
Lindsay: Here you go again, refusing to take responsibility for poor leadership.
Bobby: I could fire you. That's leadership!
Lindsay: Go ahead but you better get an opinion letter first because the fact that we
slept together with today's laws.....
The shouting match gets even louder...and Jimmy listens in at the door. Bobby thinks
this whole thing is about the fact that they are NOT sleeping together any more
Lindsay tells him that the
people in this firm have issues, yet he's laying it all on her. Bobby next confers with
Eugene. Bobby's very
angry at Lindsay for stirring up so much discontent. He wants to fire her but wants to
gauge the reaction of
the rest of the firm. Eugene defends Lindsay and evidently feels that Bobby does have
some "leadership" issues.
Here is that conversation:
Bobby: She has poisoned this place. Eugene, I think we should broom her. We start
fresh and then we build a partnership, if that's the answer.
Eugene: Look man, everybody here loves Lindsay. Next to Rebecca, she's the closest
thing this place has to a
conscience. And you love her too.
Maybe more than you know.
Well after all this comotion, Bobby doesn't end up firing Lindsay, instead takes up her
advice and decideds
to give out partnership. Nothing happens between the two until early in the third
series. While Lindsay ends
up emotionally entangled in the Pearson case, she blames Bobby for his pathetic
defence tactics, she later
apologises and they end up in a kiss.
(Bobby walks into office, see’s Lindsay leaning on office doorway)
Bobby: Hey
Lindsay: Hey......Bobby, I’m sorry.....I, didn’t mean
(Bobby put’s his hand up)
Bobby: Forget about it
Lindsay: I’ve just been (shakes her head) I hate myself for crying
Bobby: I know...........Look this whole office is here for you.....whatever you need
Lindsay: (looks up) Thank you
Bobby: I’m here for you...........you know that right
(Lindsay takes a deep breath)
Bobby: What
Lindsay: Nothing..........I was just thinking, sometimes ( music begins) I just.......
(Bobby kisses her)*
Despite the fact they kissed, nothing happens for a very long time. Suddenly about
half way through the
third series.....Bobby asks Lindsay about the kiss they shared. Lindsay explains that
she was in love with
him once and maybe she still is.
Lindsay: I could fall all over in love with you if I let myself.....but I won't"
In the next episode it lets the viewers know that the above statement Lindsay made
was not true. As the christmas party nears
confusion starts building up:
L:We're finished aren't we (referring to the case of the firm being sued)
B: (Bobby confused) Had we started up again?
L: (shocked) uh....this firm, if we lose this case
B: Oh...oh..uh...well we haven't lost and even if we do, there's a lot to appeal.....were
not finished
L: (Looks shocked and confused)
B: WHAT?
L: That's all.
When Lindsay leaves, Rebecca also comes in to inquire about the case.
(Look for the conversation in the transcripts page...it's hilarious!)
When Rebecca asks.."is it that bad" Bobby replies thinking she asked about him and
lindsay
He tells her about how Lucy kissed him with mistletoe, and how even though he
wasn't in a relationship with Lindsay
it felt wrong. He told her that in the back of his brain he feels he's in a relationship
with her.
In the end...to cut a long story short, Lindsay tells him she doesn't mean to be cold
L:"I should be honest....uh...I don't mean to be cold...it's not that I'm not interested, I
just know i'ts not right and for once, I'm going with my head
B: Oh yea Lindsay,(mockingly) You and your heart, it's so out of control.
L: What's that supposed to mean?
B: Nothing..it means your right.
L: Good.
As they are about to hug they end up kissing. BOBBY AND LINDSAY are finally
back together. Though they still end up with a
few hurdles as the firm (mostly ellenor) blames Lindsay for just sleeping with
Bobby to get power in the firm.
Luckily it was blown over pretty easily.
In the finale of the third season, Lindsay got stabbed, and Bobby realised the depth of
his feelings for Lindsay, when
he thought he might of lost her. He didn't even want to sit by her at first with the fear
of losing her just as he
did his mother. Luckily the priest was able to change his mind. In the end Bobby took
they're relationship one step
forward and proposed to her.
Well that's all Australia is up to. As soon as the 4th season starts here in Aus, I'll be
able to add more!.
