~Dancing Class~

In the dance I had power. In the dance I was beautiful. I saw delight in the eyes of men. I heard gasps of admiration. The dancing of a slave is a thousand times more sensuous than that of a free woman because of the incredible meanings involved, the additional richness which this furnishes, the explosive significance of this comprehension, that she who dances is owned, and, theoretically, could be owned by you.

This speak of reality and savagery, of ferocity, and beauty and barbarism, and of the fundamental meaningfulness of the male/female relationship, that of master to slave.

The dancing of the female before the male, that she be found pleasing and he be pleased, is one of the most profound lessons in all of human biology.

I was ready even at that time, as I now realize, to have the relentless torches of men set to the tinder in my belly, that slave fires might be lit there, thence by service, submission and love, my condition as slave, and the commands and touches of men, to be fanned, whether I willed it or not, to my dismay and joy, into open conflagrations.

Basic Concepts of Dancing

the number of posts...
there is no set number of posts to make your dance, make it as long or as short as the dance calls for.
only you can decide what you want to do and when and how many posts it's going to take you to do them, so let the creative juices flow!
just so you know, le~ala uses this as s simple guide...
her dances are never shorter than 6 posts, because she doesn't want it to seem as though she is lazy, and her dance never lasts more than 12 - 14 posts, because she doesnt want to bore E/everyone watching.
but again, those numbers are NOT set in stone!

movements, the poses

they are not just movements, but rather expressions of emotion and your sensuality/sexuality(((and yes, there is a difference!))) from the heart. how you feel during whatever pose it is you're doing, the essence of the dance thrives on how you depict how you feel!

Timing

3 - 4 ehn between posts give E/everyone watching ample time to read what it is you just posted. and make sure to keep an eye on your surroundings, you never know when the One you are dancing for is going to take advantage of you in one way or another!

Spelling-

each of you has spell check in your Windows programs, or you can access dictionary.com ....use them!!...nothing tears a dance apart like a badly misspelled word!

The Obvious-

Who are you dancing for and what does He or She like?..if He's a leg Man, show alot of leg! If Shes a behind Chick, you'd best be showing off that heiney! Please the One you dance for the best way you know how!

having trouble, need a little help with a phrase?...don't be afraid to ask a sister for help, especially one whos dance you admire. as in a previous class, we are all sisters, we are here to help each other, the sisterhood of kajirae would be nothing without each and every one of us, so dont be afraid to ask for help or be there for a sister who needs a little assistance!
However, if you ask for an opinion, expect an honest answer!...dont get upset if you dont hear what you want to.ok?

Have a definite start, middle, build up and END to your dance. don't leave the G/guests wondering what part of the dance you're doing, and especially when your dance is over, let Ppeople know when it's done! Clearly!

and now, on to the specifics....

it can and will be very difficult to know where to start when you bein to script your dance, le~ala suggests using an outline and adding to it until you feel it's right. for example;

+ using rence paper and marking stick (grin) draft an outline to include your start pose, the build up, the climax and the clear cut end post to your dance - simple one line descriptions of the basic idea for each pose.

+ add descriptions to the individual poses. where are you? what's happening? how do you feel?

+ adjectives and adverbs - add them now. le~ala cannot express how important an urthen thesaurus is (thesaurus.com)!!! be descriptive, be unique with your vocabulary. use it, love it!

A dance should have four sections;

beginning
buildup
climax
ending

the beginning

- 1 post
- move to dance area, describe yourself and pose (music optional)

build - up

- 3-4 posts
- tempt, tease, tell the plot of your story with your moods and movements

climax

- 2-3 posts
- MOST descriptive/emotional part of your dance
consider it the centerpiece!

end

- 1 post
- The Big Finally!
- let E/everyone know CLEARLY that your dance is complete!
- leave T/them begging for more!

**Final Thoughts** - always dance from your heart!

- be original! a dance is a very personal expression of who and what you really are, even if the dance has been done before!

** sensual vs sexual **
** innuendo vs blatant **
** desire vs lust **
get it?
~grin~

- spell check!!!!
le~ala can't stress this enough!

- reality - it your dance possible?
read it aloud and or actually act it out r/t
make sure it flows and thats each consecutive pose is possible!

- have fun and be yourself!
