Even though it is stated as 10 days in the books, there are many things that are in the books which we do not do.
The way flicka sees it, we can still run it for 10 days but schedule a couple of rest days during festival. Call them sleeping festival days.

This year flicka due to real time was a lot less able to participate as much as she would have liked, and big thanks go to her sisters for stepping up to dance with little forewarning, and also for graceful sharing of the scribing.

A girl would imagine that on Gor, a society where fighting was sand and sandals, the PK's forbidding any gun type weaponry, then a father would ensure that His son did know how to fight. Further as grown men when there was no wars being fought or raids being undertaken the men of a City would still practice their fighting in order to be battle ready. So flicka thinks that sparring would be an integral part of Gorean life. And why should not the Masters display Their prowess at Festival times?

It isn't easy to express your moves in a way that paints a picture of what your doing.. My belief is that for the festival next year we need to extend the vision...go to the books for ideas....and try to add variety of things that break the monotony ....why not a mock raid (or a real one)..rather than sparring in the training yard over and over just as an example?...For Me the urt hunt was the best event in gs for the year and was all inclusive
