People follow the books of Gor and create their own realm online where they adhere to the idea of Gor to varying degrees, from fairly strict to extremely loose.

Gorean Shores is one such realm.

It is doubtful if there is anyone who is able follow the books 100% or though some may make this claim.

There are those at the other end of the spectrum who may just follow a few Gorean ideals as it suits them.

Everyone who claims to be Gorean would belong somewhere on that spectrum or line.

The question is; within Gorean Shores at what point along that line, through lack of adherence does one become non-Gorean?

By what right do people impose there view of Gor on others?

galah, if you read in the books closely, there really aren't "contradictions", but differences in the cultures of various places on Gor. For example, last week it swas mentioned that in the Cities and the south, Women wore Robes fo Concealment and veils. But in Marauders it states that the Women of the North did not always wear veils. There are many things like that. In some areas, slaves could not touch money, in others they could. In some areas slaves couldn't touch weapons, but in one laced we are shown a slave shaving her Master with a straight razor. Not contradictions at all, just different customs in different places.

Keeper, I would argue that Gor IS a work in "epic" form -- and shares MUCH with those ancient texts in style and way of creating a mythic world that gets "lost" in our modern scientific way of reading things. It was the whole "system" of the Council of Captains that drew my interest. I don't feel that someone must agree with every decision, or every little "thing" - they must simply respect the "system" in place.

I definitely speak against that the system in here changed to an earthen understanding of relationships.
It may be that some or even more couples do so but that is their own decision and definitely not a system.
