It is stated in the books that the brand marked the girl's slavery, so once branded, she would probably not need to be branded again. I know of no mention in the books of a slave being branded a second time.+

I donīt recall that in the books a slave got branded more than once.
The removal of a gorean brand would be absolutely impossible because a 3 ihn pressing of glowing hot branding iron into female skin would gow in very deep. That always described way is for the thick hide of cattles and not for human skin.

From Ubar Luther: A girl will basically only be branded once in her lifetime. A brand simply signifies that you are a slave. It does not commonly serve to identify your owner. Thus, there is little reason for an owner to want to rebrand a girl. Certain penalty brands may be added to punish a girl but their intent is not show a girl's slavery or identify her owner.

The Council has always "checked" a slave when she submits to a GS collar for a brand and has not offered another.. I guess an exception would be if the brand was blemished or unclear in some way, I don't think that has ever happened. A personally owned slave's brand is the business of her Owner

I think in here it is a kind of vanity by Masters when they brand a slave again.
It is the earthan thinking - to be the first one a for a slave and so they want to erase the trails of the former Master.An ungeroan thinking where a slave becomes better and grows in slavery when she gets trained and honed by several Masters. In Gor a slave even gets sent to a slave training to polish her slave skills.

The gorean brand is not an ownerīs mark, it is a status mark - like being a slave, being a liar, being a thief and such.
A brand doesnīt tell to whom a slave belongs. At least not in general and so the kef is the most used mark, that doenīt tell anything about the owner of the slave only that the girl got enslaved.

The vast majority of slaves are branded, marking them nearly permanently as slaves. Slavers will only rarely sell a girl who has not yet been branded. I think the brand shows very well the two souls in the chest of most of us - we enjyo the goran role play but do not forget the eartena roots and so we are not feeling well with eveyrthing as it is done in the books, The mark of the branding is one of that as i sometimes noticed.
Like the matter witht he restrictions but that is a different mater, as Monthy used to say *S*
