A Glimpse of Passion

~I had caught a glimpse
A tiny sparkle
Softly flickering
In your eyes

~Drinking in deeply
Taking in your light
I had found my strength
Our energies combined

~Fires were lit
Flames burning brightly
The air was fragrant
With your sweet essence

~Breathing in your life
Your life’s wholesome wine
Soft, gentle kisses
Have now embraced me

~I’ve been in a trance
Mesmerized by you
All I really need
Is in front of me

~When we’re together
I know I am safe
Planning to protect
Each moment we share

~There will be good times
Bad ones far and few
Now understanding
Things aren’t always easy

~Whatever may come
Will be accepted
With an open mind
And my steady heart
