"Yea," she giggled happily.
"Yo mean, I'm gonna be a daddy?" He couldnt't believe it. Katie was 4 months pregnant.
"Well, it's either you or the mailman that I screwed around with while you gone." She said sarcasticly. "Of course!"
Nothing could have spoiled the moment they shared now. Nick went to the phone and immedately called his parents and eveyone else he knew. They were thrilled and were on their way down as soon as they could. He and Katie went out to dinner that night and they shared their fears and dreams about the kid they were soon going to have. Nick wanted the baby to be a boy so he could name it Nick Jr. and Katie, like all mothers, just wanted the baby to be healthy, although be couldn't resist telling Nick she wanted it to be a girl.
"So, I guess this is really the time where we should start acting like grown-ups." Kate said nervously.
She was scared by how much the baby was going to change them. They were going to be responsible for a life now. That scared her to death. What if the baby had a horrible life like she did? What if's ran through her mind and Nick assured her they were going to be good parents.
They went to sleep that night feeling so incredibly lucky to have each other and as they fell asleep, Katie felt a sense of warmth that had left her when her mother had indeed, She was truly happy and she finally realized it.
