The class looked half dead and Professor Miles knew it which is why he assigned them a report due at the end of the year on the Cold War.
"Class Dismissed."
At this time of the day Judy usually waited for Brian at his locker, but she obviously she was still upset with him because she wasn't there.
"Damnit Judy." Brian whispered to himself as he banged his head aganist the locker.
"If you're looking for Judy, she's outside on the lawn." Brian looked up to see who told him and it was Judy's best friend and other half, Kim.
Out on the lawn, which was covered by snow this time of the year. Judy was reading a book and eating an apple on a nearby bench. Brian spotted her on the bench. "Hey." He said.
She didn't reply.
"It's kind of cold out here for a picnic babe, don't cha think?"
She turned towards him with a cold stare. "I'm not in the mood Brian, not today."
Brian watched as she tossed her apple in the trash next to a nearby tree and walked towards the school as if he wasn't even there.
"Hey Jude, come on. I'm sorry babe!"
She turned back at him and waited for him to catch up to her.
"Look honey, I'm sorry. I caught up in the game. I love you and I'm sorry. Okay?"
She looked at him with forgiveness and hugged him. She knew he loved her and she loved him too much to hold a grudge. Brian then placed his hands around her neck and kissed her mouth gently.
"We okay now?" he asked.
She shook her head yes and they walked hand in hand back to the school. "I have math now babe. I'll see ya later. Love you. Bye." he said then kissed her on the cheek.
"Love you too." She said as she blew him a kiss.
Math class was not one of Brian's favorite subjects and the professor didn’t help matters.
"Now we will discuss derivities." Professor Lewis said as he turned to the board. Jimmy tapped Brian on the shoulder to see how things were between him and Judy.
"Yeah, she forgave me.", he whispered.
"How did you manage that one Bri?"
Brian turned back to reply, when the loud speaker came on. "Attention…Attention…will Brian Thomas Littrell pleas report to Principal Howard's office immediately. Thank you."
"OOOOOO.", the class teased as Brian got up to leave the class.
Brian had a worried look on his face, thinking that something was wrong. The tension within him built as he came closer to the office. Before he opened the door his mother came running out crying, "OH my baby…my baby duck!" she cried to him.
"Mom, what's wrong. What happened? Is it Dad, Harold, what?"
She looked at him with surprise then she started laughing.
"What's so funny?"
She handed him the principal's cell phone.
"But?" he said.
"Just take it honey."
Brian took the phone in confusion and said, "Hello?" There was a bit of static on the other end so he said hello again.
"Brian?" the voice on the other end asked.
"Yeah?"
"It's your cousin Kevin!" he exclaimed.
Brian was in shock since he hadn't herd from him in over two years. Ever since he went to Disney to work. "I thought you were in Florida?"
"I am, but enough about me. How would you like to be in a group?" he asked in excitement.
Brian was confused. "Ah, what kinda group?"
"A pop/R&B group?" Kevin explained. "There are four other guys and they live around here. You need to come down here and talk it over. I gotta go. Love ya cuz. Bye!"
Brian hung up the phone and looked up at his mother in shock.
"Honey, it's time to show the world your magic!" she shouted.
