Chapter Twelve

It was around twelve am when Brian tip-toed into his hotel room. Nick was sound asleep with remote in hand. Brian, trying not to wake his best bud, attempted to slide the remote out of his hands. Nick reacted by moaning and turning over in the bed, taking the remote with him.

"Come on Nick." Brian whispered as he reached for the remote again.

"Were you looking for this?" Nick replied as he sat up and smiled.

Startled, Brian jumped back. "Dammit Frack, you scared me half to death!" he cried.

"Did you really think I wouldn't wait up for you?" he said. "Come on Frick, I was worried about you man." Brian smiled and sat down next to his friend on the bed. "So how was the Steakhouse?" Brian asked trying to change the subject.

"Fine, how was Leighanne?" he asked jumping right back to the prior subject matter. "I know you Frick and you look upset."

Brian didn’t want to talk about it, but he had to in order to get over it. "It didn’t work out that’s all." Nick gave him a puzzled look, knowing that he was lying through his teeth. "What exactly happened?"

Brian explained how she just wanted a fling and how rude she acted towards him. "We argued for most of the date so you know. I dropped her back then came back here."

Nick gave his best friend a hug and told him to get to bed." Look, we go home in a few days Frick. It'll all blow over I promise." he encouraged.

"Hey, what time is it in New York?" He asked to Nick's surprise.

"Well its one am now so it would be around ten PM there." he explained. "Why, you gonna call Mick?" Brian nodded. "Yeah, I need to talk to her. She always gives good advice."

"And what am I a piece of crap?"

Brian put his arm around Nick. "No, you're my best friend, but Mick is my womanly advisor."

"Well I'd hardly call her that? I mean...nevermind."

"You don’t know her like I do. She knows a lot believe it or not Frack."

Nick shrugged his shoulders. "Well you'd know more than me."

Saying that Brian went to grab the phone and Nick went back to bed." Hold up Frack. What does mean? I should know."

Nick picked his head up and smiled at Brian. "Nothing Frick. Are you gonna call or what?" he laughed.

"Right." he said then dialed.

"Hello?" the man on the other end answered. "Hi is Michelle there?"

"Yeah. Who is this?" her father asked.

"Brian…Brian Littrell from Florida. We met last summer sir." he explained.

"Oh, how are you? I'll get her." he said then took the phone of his ear. "Michelle!” he yelled.

A few seconds later Michelle took the phone from her dad. "Yeah."

Brian hesitated for a second then said, "Hey Mick its me, Brian."

In shock, she said nothing and their was a long pause.

"Umm hello? "He asked.

Brian, I'm surprised you called."

"Hey did you get my letter?" he asked.

"Sure did. It should be fun to see you all again." she said with excitement.

"So what's knew with you Mick?"

Michelle didn’t want to mention gossip, but she decided she would share it with him anyway. "I herd on the radio that you were dating some chick in Orlando." she explained.

Brian was use to all of the gossip and rumors since it had been going on for four years now. "Yeah, her name was Holly. She was nice, but nothing much came of it because of the band.” he explained. "Let me just tell you Mick, I had the most horrible night of my life!"

The two spoke until twelve PM in NY and three am in L.A. Mick assured him that he would find someone and that Leighanne was an ass so he shouldn’t worry. They had become really close friends with a lot of the same interests which helped a lot.

"Well, I gotta go B-Rok. Thanks for calling. I can't wait to see you in a month!" she exclaimed.

"Me too. Keep practicing, you'll need it woman!" he teased.

After he hung up the phone, he put his boxers on and shut the T.V. off, then hopped into bed. Just for the time period, he began to think about Judy and how they had loved each other once. Yeah they faught, but they had shared something so special with each other and they loved each other completely. Brian might have dated for four years, but being intimate with anyone of those girls was the furthest thing from his mind. Those were the best days of this life he thought. Just going to school, playin' B-Ball, and being with Judy. Brian wondered if he would ever feel that way again about a woman. Shortly after, he fell asleep pondering with the future would hold.
