Above, gracing Night's sable brow, you will see six luminescent celestial slivers of silver. They are called many names, the most common being that of the Six Sisters. Theirs a tale lost in the mists of time and legend. M'haps, if you are one born with the gift of second sight, you will glimpse their fleeting ghostly forms on nights when each moon wears a fiery steel silver crown of ice.

This is a world that follows a lunar calendar. Seasons, celebrations, and the passage of time are marked by the cycles of the Moons and other celestial bodies. However, the Moons are the ones who hold a special place in the hearts of the Imajians.

The Imajian Lunar Calendar is divided into 13 Lunar Months each lasting 28 Solarians (days or one lunar month) with an extra day occurring every leap year. The Lunar Calendar follows a woman's natural menstrual cycle and the rhythm of fertility.

The concept of time among Imajians consists of being attuned to the natural rhythms and tones of the celestial bodies. This requires an understanding of global energy patterns and connection to the natural world.

Solarians (Days), Lunaes (Nights), and Semanaes (Weeks)

Lunae = One Solarian (Solar Day) of 13 Hours
7 Lunaes = One Quarter Moon or One Semanae (Week)
28 Lunaes = One Lunar Month (four weeks)
91 Lunaes = One Quarter Solarian (Solar Year) or 13 Samanaes
364 Lunaes = 13 Moons
364 Luanes = One Solarian (Solar Year) less One Lunae (52 weeks)

Lunars (Lunar Months) by Estacionaes (Seasons)

Estacionae d'Solaris (Summer)
Solarianaes (June){Time of the Three Brothers}
Calaroaes (July){Time of Heat}
Fuegaes (August){Time of Fire}

Estacionaes d'Llamaes (Season of Flames or Foliage -- Autumn)
Cosechaeas(September){Time of Harvest}
Muertaes(October){Time of the Death Crone}
Sombraeas(November){Time of Shadows}

Estacionaes d'Brujae (Season of the Crone -- Winter)
Frioaes(December){Time of Eternal Slumber}
Hielaes(January){Time of Frost}
Vientoaes(February){Time of Storms}

Estacionaes d'Damaeas (Season of the Maiden -- Spring)
Lluviaes(March){Time of Rain/Replanting}
Naceraes(May){Time of Rebirth}
Rejuvenaes(April){Time of the Maiden}
Descansaes(the 13th Lunar Month){Time of Repast}

The Time of the Death Crone actually lasts three Lunars until the end of the Time of Eternal Slumber when crops are prepared for replanting. The 29th day of the leap year falls on the last day of Muertaes.

The Moons symbolize womanhood and the Goddess. The Solarians represent the male. The majority of religious rites celebrating the Goddess take place at night under the cloak of the New Moons and the Full Moons.
