The subterranean world below the Keep and the forests is one of mystery and fragile beauty. The caverns stretch for hundreds of miles. No one has mapped out the full scope of the cavern network and cataloged the underwold life forms. Only the Impa' are the best source of first hand knowledge regarding this world. This is a world of underground lakes, citadels, gardens of stones and crystals. In some places, the traveler will find petrified forests of stone and living trees. Gigantic blind moths fly throuh the air of these gardens that have never seen the light of the Solarians

The slow drip of water from the cavern's ceiling in some places has eaten way the limestone and calcite creating over centuries stalactites that hand hang from the caverns' roof like jagged dragon's teeth. On the ground, the slow dissolving of action and pooling of milky droplets has led to the formation of stalagmites. In some places, stalagmites and stalactites have met forming towering archways and columns.

The Keep's Impa' have for the most part cultivated vast underground gardens of rare and exotic blooms, fruits, and legumes. Other more magnificent gardens are of crystal formations which they have coaxed into odd and wonderous forms. They either travel on foot or using one the gigantic furred worm like creatures that later in the adult stage become beautiful moths. This is how the Impa' are able to transvers the network of caverns and their domains.

In some places, the life giving rays of the Solarians pierce this veil of darkness in an other wise world of darkness with a soft gentle golden - white light. Gentle winds dance through the vast stone chambers touching the odd crystal clusters that hand fromt he roof or grown from the ground.

The Impa' have found some of the crystals to have musical properties. Here in the large cavern crystal chambers, the Impma' gather to listen to nature's sweet song. Here the cosmic harmonics are replicated in soft pulsating resonances caused by the gentle brush of the wind. A hauntingly beautiful chime filters throughout the caverns from these natural concert halls.

The Impa' are most happy to serve as guides to any of the Keep's inhabitants. A more recent addition to this subterranean world are the Mog'wais, creatures that resemble a cross between a small dragon and dog. Their upper bodies are covered in velvet like fur that ranges in colors from gold to silver. Heads resemble that of earth's Cockerspanials while the lower torso ends in a scaled winged body. They only have two frong legs that end in taloned furred hands. A long serpentine tail serves as counter weight to maintain balance when walking or gliding through the air. Bat like wings not only help in gliding but also serve as gigantic fans for hot days. There are two small hands hidden beneath the wings that make up fo the lost of lower limbs. Mog'wais love to horde precious minerals and gems. Mog'wai dens are located for the most part near rich mineral deposit. A Mog'wai family as moved into the Keep's treasure room to the horror of the Impa', since anything taken from the Treasure Room must be bantered for.

Don't be fooled by the beauty of the caverns. Just like all caves, these can become death traps and are full of danger. They have their own ecosystems that house bats, insect life, blind fish, moles, and more exotic life forms such as Water and Fire Elementals.
