“You’re not running away are you?” Nick turned around smiling. Billie was still half asleep with her eyes closed. Her long curly auburn hair looked especially gorgeous all tussled up. She opened up her sleepy green eyes and looked at him.
“Now why would I do something like that?” he said, walking over to her. Billie smiled with a yawn, stretching her arms. Nick smiled and kissed the palm of her hand.
She laughed and squished his face. “Hand me that shirt over there please?”
He leaned down and began kissing her neck. “Now why would I do something like that Bebz?” he asked with a grin.
Billie laughed, playing with his hair. “How else am I supposed to make breakfast with Gramma & Grampop in the kitchen?”
He thought about that for a while and, with a very serious face on, replied, “I see your point…” He threw the shirt at her. She laughed, slipping it over her head. She wrapped her arms around his neck pulling him down onto the bed.
Nick smiled and rested on top of her slipping his arms under her, bringing her close. She was just about to kiss him when there was a knock on the door.
Billie rolled her eyes. “It never fails. Every time I’m gunna do something, SOMEONE has to interrupt!” she sighed under her breath. Nick was about to kiss her again when there was another knock.
“Just a second!” she yelled out as Nick looked around for somewhere to hide; finally cramming himself under her bed.
“Come in!” she yelled. Willow came bursting through the door singing with Gypsy right behind her.
“Bilz! We were supposed to be at the mall an hour ago! We’re gunna miss them!” Willow squealed. Her shoulder length blond hair flapped around as she bounced up & down with a glint of excitement in her light blue eyes. N’Sync were signing autographs at the mall that day & Willow was one of their loyal fans. Gypsy just stood by the door twirling her long black hair around her finger.
Billie rolled her eyes. “If I must!” she laughed & hopped out of bed.
“Hurry up! I don’t want to miss J.C.!” Willow giggled. Nick made a funny face under the bed.
Willow turned around heading out the door. “We’ll wait for you outside.” She walked away singing “Tearing Up My Heart”.
Gypsy nodded, following her. “Bye Nick!”
Billie whipped her head around in surprised. You heard a loud thud and the bed rise up a tad. “Owie!” Nick crawled out from under the bed holding his head. “How’d you know I was here?” he asked, rubbing the back of his head.
Gypsy laughed. “Your pants are hanging from the ceiling fan!” she laughed again and walked away.
Billie and Nick looked up. Sure enough, there they were! Nick chuckled, “There they are!”
“No they’re mine!”
“Who cares just give it to me!”
You could hear arguing all down the hallway of the fancy hotel the boys were staying at. Kevin walked over to Brian’s door to find Howie leaning his ear against it, listening in.
“What’s going on?” Kevin whispered.
“There fighting over some McDonald’s Super Size Fries,” Howie laughed.
Kevin rolled his eyes, chuckling. He opened the door to find A.J. standing on top of Brian.
“Give… me… those… FRIES!!”
Brian squirmed around. “NEVER!”
A.J. tried to snatch the fries from Brian’s hands. “Give… me!”
Kevin calmly walked over to them, took away the fries, laughing, & handed them to Howie. Howie shrugged smiling & walked back to his room.
“Gee thanks Kev!” A.J. exclaimed helping Brian up.
“I came down here to ask you two if you’ve seen Nick, not to play referee,” Kevin chuckled.
“I haven’t seen him since last night. He was whining something about being bored,” Brian said as he brushed himself off.
A.J. laughed. “Nick? Bored? That’s a first!”
They all laughed. “I’m serious though. Howie says he saw him leave the hotel last night and the door man didn’t see him come back yet,” Kevin said, getting worried.
“Did you call his cell phone?” asked Brian, sipping his soda.
“I never thought of that…”
“You’re slipping dude!” A.J. said, taking a big bite out of his Double Quarter Pounder with cheese. (Tee Hee!)
Kevin shrugged. “Stress,” he sighed, walking out of the room.
“Wanna come with me to visit da' family?” asked A.J.
“Sure! How’s our little girl doing?” Brian asked with a laugh.
“She’s good from what I hear. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen her…” A.J. frowned.
“Don’t worry! We’ll go visit… right after we get our fries back from Howie that is!” Brian grinned evilly.
Gramma McLean smiled at him from her rocking chair on the porch, reaching her arms out to him. “Mooshy!”
He hugged his grandma really tight. The rest of the guys just stood there watching, not knowing if they should say something, or just stand there.
“Say something…” Brian whispered to Howie.
“Like what?” he whispered back.
“How about, ‘what lovely flowers are growing in your garden this season Mrs. A.J.’s grandma,’” chimed in Kevin with a cheesy smile.
Howie and Brian looked at him strangely. Kevin just shrugged, wondering what was so wrong with what he said. A.J. let go of his grandma.
Gramma smiled. “Hello boys!”
(All together now!) “Hello Gramma McLean!” they all said grinning.
“Where’s Grampop?” asked A.J., sitting down on the porch swing.
“He went to Home Depot. Said something about mowing the roof,” laughed Gramma.
A.J. and the rest of the guys laughed. “And Billie?” asked A.J., looking around for her.
“She’s inside with Willow and Nick.”
“Nick!?” they all blurted out at the same time, surprised.
“Yes, Nick.” She smiled, a bit puzzled.
The guys rushed inside, stopping short in the kitchen where Nick was sitting down on a stool by the counter as Willow mixed something in a large bowl singing “Giddy Up”.
“Oh, hey guys!” Willow said and looked up from the bowl.
“Nick what are you doing here?” asked Howie.
“Eating! What does it look like he’s doing?” Kevin laughed.
Once again, they all looked at Kevin oddly.
“I think I’ll go lay down…” Kevin said, shaking his head and walking into the living room.
“Willow asked me to drive her, Gypsy and Billie to the mall,” Nick replied, taking over the mixing for Willow.
“Where were you last night!?” Brian asked with is hands on his hips.
“I couldn’t sleep so I went driving around for awhile and stopped at my mom’s house.” He was still stirring.
“Oh…” they all said, calming down.
Just then, Billie popped up from behind the counter with a huge pan in her hands. All the guys jump back, getting the begeezus scared out of them.
“What?” Billie asked, putting the large home made pizza on the counter, not knowing what’s going on. Willow and Nick laughed.
“Damn girl! Scare the crap out of us why don’t you!” A.J. said smiling.
Billie’s eyes widened up as a large smile appeared on her face. She ran over to A.J. with her arms open (you know, like the ones in the song.). “FluFlu!”
He smiled and hugged her tightly. “Wussup BooBoo?”
“Nothing. Just making a snack to eat,” she laughed.
“Look at you!” he said, taking her hand and twirling her around.
She was turning a little red but smiling. She was covered in flour and what not and was wearing a huge apron. “A.J….”
Brian sniffled. “Our little girl is growing up!” He then pretended to cry into Howie’s shoulder while Howie pretended to look all choked up, patting Brian's back.
“Hahaha! Not funny!” Billie laughed, hitting them both playfully.
“What?” Willow asked.
“Did… Billie… make this?” Brian asked nervously.
“Yes…why?”
“Well… the last time Billie ever made us something to eat… uh… there was mud in it,” Brian coughed, looking back at the pizza.
“Yeah…” Kevin said, picking up his slice for a closer inspection.
“Mine had worms! What are you guys complaining about?” said Howie, sniffing his pizza.
“What do you expect a mud pie to have? Cheese?”
The guys turned their heads to see Billie standing there fixing her curly hair up in a half tail. She had changed into khaki JNCO overalls with a green baseball tee.
“Oh my god! Our little girl HAS grown up,” exclaimed Brian with his jaw dropped. Nick smacked him upside the head.
“Well? Are you gunna eat it or what?” Billie laughed.
“I don’t know…” said A.J. with a shaky voice.
“I’ll eat it!” Nick took a huge bite out of his slice.
“Well hell, that’s easy! Nick’ll eat bellybutton lint if given the chance!” Kevin said, throwing his arms in the air.
“You do something ONCE and they never let you live it down…” Nick said, shaking his head.
Everyone looked at Nick and then at Kevin. “Kev, that’s the first sensible thing you’ve said all day!” said A.J., amazed.
“See, stress!” Kevin said, biting into the pizza.
His eyes opened wide realizing what he did. Howie, Brian and A.J. screamed like girls watching a scary movie.
“Mmmm… this is great!” he said, biting into it again. At first, Brian hesitated but took a bite. Then Howie, then A.J.
“Wow BooBoo! Did you make this yourself?” asked A.J. between bites.
“Yup! Homemade!” She replied, glowing with pride.
“Who’da thunk it!? My little sister can cook!” smiled A.J., hugging her.
Billie walked back into the kitchen. She began taking a whole bunch of stuff out and putting them onto the counter.
“Bildo what are you doing?” asked Brian.
“Making dinner, what does it look like I’m doing?” she said.
“Making a big mess, that’s what!” laughed Howie.
“Oh no you don’t!” A.J. said, jumping out of his chair. “We’re taking you out for your birthday.”
Billie looked at him smiling. “But FluFlu, my birthday was 3 months ago.”
“I know! I just wanna make up for missing it, that’s all.”
“I’d rather go bowling,” she said glancing up at him.
“Alright then! We’ll go bowling. Afterward we can all sleep over here. Willow and Gypsy can come too.”
“Yay!” everyone yelled, clapping.
“So are you going to buy dinner for my birthday so you don’t have to eat my cooking?” Billie laughed sitting down next to Nick.
“I’m not complaining. I’ve always loved your cooking.” Nick smiled and gave her a kiss on the cheek that seemed a tad bit too close to the lips for comfort. Well that is comfort for A.J., who was now giving them an odd look as they flirted through out lunch.
“Sure. Sevenish sounds just fine. I’ll call up Gypsy in a few so she can come over.”
“Cool. C’mon Kevin! C’mon Nick!” Howie shouted across the house. Kevin comes running over, screaming, and tackling Howie to the ground. “Oof!” Howie puffed, falling to the floor.
“Yea WooHoo! Touch down!” Kevin said slamming a teddy bear on the ground then broke out into a funky dance.
“Ack! Binky!” Billie with very little effort pushed Kevin down and grabbed the bear hugging it protectively.
“BooBoo? What’s the deal with the bear?” AJ asked standing at the door waiting for the guys.
“Nick won me this bear at that fair when I was 12. I never had the heart to throw it out. I love this bear and Kevin used him as a football!” she pouted kicking Kevin lightly.
“Awww you still have that? That’s so cute!” Nick sniggled leaning over, giving her another kiss too close for A.J.’s comfort. A.J. sneered and walked out the door. Howie went also with Nick and Brian close behind.
“C’mon Train. Or shall we call you the little engine?” Willow laughed helping a whimpering Kevin off the ground.
