"This time I'll build my army of darkness in a place that the slayers can't get to." Meanwhile at the Mobotropolis palace's thrown room, "Dan, what's wrong?" asks Sally. "There's an evil force or entity on Mobius," replies Dan as he holds his head in pain. Dan shakes it off and then disappears into a puff of white smoke. "You shall be the first that I will feed upon," says the vampire as he readies his victim. She zeros in on the sharp, lethal fangs in Rash's mouth and then screams out in bloody murder. "There is no one here that can help you," sneers the vampire. "Think again you buck tooth freak," snaps Dan angrily. The vampire turns around and sees a blonde hedgehog holding a silver and gold sword. "So boy, you think that you can stop me," remarks Rash. "I don't think so, I know so," corrects Dan. In a startling burst of speed, the vampire had dropped the unfortunate girl and charged at Dan who in the same burst of speed dodged his attacker and sliced open its arm. "You're good, but not good enough." The vampire becomes invisible and charges at Dan again. This time Dan didn't have any defenses that will help him against this new attack. It grabs Dan and sinks its fangs into Dan's neck. Dan tries with all his might to break free of Rash's deadly grip. Rash smiles evilly as he drains Dan's body of his life giving blood. After the last drop of blood passes the lips of the vampire, "Your blood has rejuvenated me in ways that I never dreamed possible. Too bad, you won't be able to feed me again. But when do you awaken, you shall be one of many in my dark army of vampires," explains the vampire as it feels a new surge of power flow into its body. The vampire disappears into a plume of midnight black smoke as the ring reopens and out steps two more figures. They immediately spot Dan's lifeless body lying out in the open. One of the figures checks Dan's body and discovers, "Yup, he was bitten by the same vampire that we're currently tracking," says the figure. "Hemhm, this is Rash's handy work. I'd recognize his trade mark anywhere. Do you want to stake him or should I?" asks the other. "No, Angel, we don't have time to take care of this vampire before he wakes up," replies the companion. "Right, Buffy," adds Angel. The duo quickly leaves to resume the search for the vampire. While their backs were turned, Dan's birthmark had started to emit a soft white light that had revived and had completely healed Dan's body. "I'm going to kill that blood sucker, when I find him," Dan coldly admits as he raced back to the palace. Meanwhile at the palace, "Sonic, you go left, while I go right," whispers Sally. Sonic nods and races to the vampire's left as Sally goes to its right. The vampire quickly takes off and grabs Diane by her neck. "Sonic, transform into Super Sonic, and QUICKLY," yells a panick filled Diane. "I can't. I don't have my super power ring with me," informs Sonic. Sally quickly tosses Sonic a power ring. Sonic raises the ring high and races at the vampire. The vampire races out of the way and says, "All this running around has made me very hungry." He opens his mouth wide and plunges his fangs into Diane's neck. Diane's eyes go wide with fear as her blood flows into the eagerly awaiting mouth of the vampire. Dan has just entered the thrown room when he sees Rash drop Diane after she was drained of all her blood. "I'm going to tear you to ribbons for that," yells Dan viciously. "What?!?! You were not turned into a vampire!" "I'm not a blood sucking freak!!! Never have been and NEVER will be one!!!" Dan heatedly yells as he draws his sword. Dan quickly charges at the vampire with the speed equivalent of Mach four. The vampire tries to dodge, but Dan is moving too fast for it. The vampire goes flying into a nearby wall. Dan places his sword by his fallen wife, and then he holds her closely as his tears flow freely. Shortly after his last tear is shed for his slain wife, Dan had gently and solemnly placed her deceased body back on the floor. Then in a quick instant, the vampire had grabbed Dan and threatened to rip him limb from limb. Unknown to everyone, Diane had begun to stir. As Dan and the vampire were struggling for the upper hand, Diane had slowly sat up and unconsciously placed her hand on top of Dan's sword. As she did so, the sword encases her in a soft silvery light. "Uh? What happened? Dan!!!" calls out Diane as she threw Dan's sword towards her husband. The sword flies through the air, slices through the shoulder of the vampire, and lands in Dan's hands. Dan gives a quick, strong kick to the vampire's abdomen. Rash flies through the air just as Angel and Buffy enter the thrown room. "That's the reason why they call it a thrown room, you blood sucking bozo. Because I'll have thrown your messed up ass all over this room before I'm done with you," hisses Dan. "Yeah right, and maybe I'll feed on you again." "Time to end this here and now! Twin blades!!!" Dan's sword glows with a bright silvery light again. The light splits into two parts and starts to fade, revealing two identical swords. Dan spins on his heels creating a yellow tornado. He then raises his arms and races at the vampire. The vampire tries to dodge, but Dan still manages to take off its head causing the vampire to turn into a pile of lifeless dust. "You do know that was supposed to be my job," says Buffy. "You snooze. You lose," says Dan as he walks over to Diane, "Diane, are you okay?" "Yeah, I guess that what ever it was, didn't get a chance to drain me of all my blood," says Diane. She then feels a tad bit light headed. "Diane, dear, what's wrong?" asks Dan with the unmistakable signs of worry in his voice. "I think that I'm hungry again, but I shouldn't be," says Diane curiously. All of a sudden an unusual guy riding a strange bike bursts into the thrown room, pulls out a crossbow, and says to Diane, "Time to die, night stalker," as he takes aim and fires. With an uncanny burst of speed, Dan had caught the crossbow bolt and grabbed the biker. "If you want to live another second, you will NOT do that again," hisses Dan as he lifts the biker as high as he can. The biker notices the two puncture wounds on Dan's neck. "But you won't live long enough to carry out that threat, demon," says the biker as he fires his weapon. Dan looks down and sees a crossbow bolt sticking out of chest. "Do you know how much th..." starts Dan as his eyes roll back into his head and collapses onto the floor. "Now, it's your turn, night stalker." The biker reloads the crossbow, aims at Diane, and fires again. Out of fear, Diane runs with an unnatural burst of speed. "Should we help her out, or let the fruit cake with the bike kill her?" asks Buffy. "Well, when he is done with her, we are going to have to fight him because he will try to kill me next," says Angel frankly. Diane had just ran herself into a corner, "No where to run, night stalker." Dan sits up, pulls out the bolt, and looks around to discover the biker about to kill Diane. Dan's face contorts in anger as his color starts to change back and forth at a blinding rate. "I hope that guy has his life insurance paid up," says Sonic as he notices Dan's color change. "I think that he won't have to worry about life insurance much longer," says Sally. Diane also notices her husband's color change and says "I think, that you had just pissed off my husband, you trigger happy lunatic." Buffy and Angel notice Dan's new metallic silver coloration and look at each other in shock for they have never seen anyone's color change for no apparent reason. "Oh? And what will he do to me? Kill me?" "That's the idea, ding bat," thunders Mega-Dan. The biker whips around and spots a fully recovered Dan on his feet and a bright metallic silver. "The name's Blade not ding bat or lunatic," responds Blade coldly. "When I'm done with you, your name will be mud," informs Mega-Dan who then raced at Blade while leaving a mile long silver streak behind him. Blade quickly throws a solar grenade that detonates in Mega-Dan's path, blinding Mega-Dan, Sonic, Sally, and Buffy, and causing both Diane and Angel to wince in sharp pain. "Sonic, that other guy and Diane had acted like the grenade had injured them. I wonder why," says Sally as she blinked her eyes. "Me too," replies Sonic as he also blinked his eyes. "Dan, are you all right?" asks Diane in obvious pain. "Yeah, which is more than I can shortly say for drippy over there." Mega-Dan again turns to face Blade. "This ends here and now, demons," says Blade as he pulls out another crossbow and aims at Diane. Just as Blade pulls the trigger, Mega-Dan quickly steps between Blade and Diane. A loud resounding clang was heard throughout the palace. "What!! Impossible!!! No demon can stop my crossbow bolts!" "You bike riding idiot, I'm invincible in this form," says Mega-Dan as he power punches Blade out a nearby window and into an awaiting gray ring. "And take your bike with you!" yells Mega-Dan as he also throws Blade's bike through the same window and into the ring, "Diane how are you feeling?" asks Mega-Dan "Fine, I think. Although that grenade seemed to have hurt," says Diane. "I wonder why it affected you, Diane, but not us," says Sally. "Because she was turned into a vampire," says Buffy. "Who are you two," says Sonic. "My name is Buffy and my friend's name is Angel," answers Buffy. "We also noticed the grenade had also affected your friend. So I'm assuming that Angel is a vampire as well," says Sally. Dan takes on a more defensive posture after hearing that Angel is one of the night stalkers that Diane has just became. "Yes, I am," starts Angel as he tells Sally and friends about his past. "So how did Diane get her soul freed from the demon?" asks Buffy, "If nobody had cast the spell that Angel told us about." "All that I remember is, I was holding Dan's sword," says Diane. "How can a simple sword free her soul," asks Angel who is thoroughly confused. "Because it is no ordinary sword. It happens to be a peace guardian's sword, meaning that it is enchanted with its own set of magical powers. For example restoring a person's soul or to be able to slice through any material cleanly," says Dan. "Sorta like the legendary sword Excaliber," adds Buffy. "I guess so." "Dan, I just realized something. You have not only insulted the dead vampire but Diane and Angel as well," says Sonic. Diane and Angel perk up and ask, "What did he call us?" "He called all vampires, 'blood sucking' yeow!!!" calls out Sonic as holds his left foot and is hopping up and down on his right. "Blood sucking yeow???" question Diane and Angel. Then Sally notices a very small flame where Sonic's left foot had been. "Dan!!! You gave my husband a hot foot!!" yells Sally angrily "OOPS, my bad," cracks Dan. "As I was saying," starts Sonic. Dan glares menacingly at Sonic who stopped in mid sentence. "What I said was out of anger towards that vampire. I didn't know that it had turned Diane into a vampire, and that Angel was also a vampire," Dan says quickly. Diane's color starts to slowly fade as her hunger pains grow in intensity. "Diane, you have to feed. You don't have any options left," says Dan. "No!!! It can wait until after we have learned more about this, this, curse," says Diane stubbornly as her fangs become more and more pronounced. "Like I said before you don't have that option any more," reiterates Dan as he stuffs his arm into Diane's mouth, forces her fangs into it and briefly winces in pain. Sally quickly leaves to get some medical supplies from the first aid kit. Diane instinctively closes her mouth around the wound and starts to feed on her husband's blood. "I hope that he knows what he's doing," says Buffy. "He does. He's preserving his wife's life," says Sonic. "She is his wife?!?!" "Yup, she happens to be his wife." Sally quickly returns with a quaze pad, a roll of quaze wrapping, and medical tape. Diane releases Dan's arm, takes the medical supplies, and quickly bandages Dan's wounds. "Dan, if you EVER pull that stunt again, I'll make sure that you will regret it, big time," warns Diane menacingly. "Just as long as you feed on a regular basis," says Dan weakly. Diane glares defiantly at Dan and finally says, "Okay, you win! I'll feed on a regular basis." "Good," answers Dan as he passed out from the rapid blood loss. "Dan!!!" yells Diane, "Wake up!" "Zzzzzzzzzzz...." "Diane, forget it. Once he is out, he can't be woken up," says Sonic. "Buffy, we better get back home before the vampires decide to have a field day," says Angel. "Right," replies Buffy as they turn to leave. "Hey wait!" calls out Sally. "Uhh?" "You might want to take that with you," says Sally as she points to Sonic as he vacuums up the remains of Rash with a dust buster. "Oh, yeah, we don't want to leave him behind. Who knows if there is way to resurrect a vampire here," says Buffy as she accepts the dust buster from Sonic. "Well, good luck," says Sally "Thanks, the same to you guys as well. I hope that you take care of yourselves," expresses Buffy as she and Angel head back to the portal. Later that night, "Hey bro. What's going on?" asks Justin, "How come Dan's arm is bandaged up?" "Because he was bitten by Diane," says Sonic. "Why?" "Because I was turned into a vampire," answers Diane. Justin notices the drops of blood that are stubbornly clinging to her fangs. "Whoa, Diane, have you considered seeing a dentist about that over bite of yours," jokes Justin. "HAHAHA, very funny, Justin. You're very lucky that I'm more worried about Dan right now." "Zzzz...." Sally looks at Dan and says, "Diane, will you please roll him onto his side. I'm tired of hearing his snoring." "Right," Diane rolls Dan onto his side. "Well, that did the trick," says Sonic as Dan's snoring becomes muted. "So, Diane, is there a way to remove your curse?" asks Justin seriously. "I hope so; I really hope so," says Diane. "You don't know," says a surprised Sally. "Yeah, I don't know if there is a counter curse. They don't give all new vampires instruction manuals," says Diane sarcastically. Half an hour later, "Dan, come on wake up, please," Diane says in a soft, dulcet tone of voice. "Five more minutes, mom," Dan says sleepily. "Dan, now," Diane says sharply. "Uh?" Dan asks lazily, "Oh, Diane...... You look troubled. What's the matter?" "We were talking about if there is a counter curse," Diane admits. "Well, we can go talk to Knuckles about that counter curse," says Dan. "Why?" "Because there was a vampire on the floating island once, and an ancestor of his had stopped it some how," answers Dan. "You mean Knuckles might know how to remove this curse," Diane says eagerly. "Then lets go to the floating island, right now," says Sonic. Dan quickly nods and gets ready to teleport himself and Diane to the floating island. "Dan; Justin and I are coming too. Just in case." "Okay." Dan, Diane, Sonic, and Justin disappear in a plum of white smoke. "Be careful you four," says Sally as the last wisp fades away into the air. Meanwhile, "Knux, what is it?" "It's not a what is it; it's a who is it, Julie-su," responds Knuckles, "I thought that you won't be dropping in unexpectedly any more. You're starting to get as bad as Archie," as he turns on and points a flashlight at the intruders. "Knux, we need your help with a problem," says Dan. "Well, I'm all ears," comments Knuckles. "We had a visit from a vampire back at Mobotropolis," informs Dan. Knuckles and Julie-su look at each other and then at Dan and the assembled team with him. "Did it feed on any one?" asks Julie-su. "Yeah it did. Dan and me," responds Diane. That's when Knuckles and Julie-su notice Diane's fangs, they slowly take a step back. "Don't worry, I've already been feed," says Diane coldly. "Sorry, we didn't know. How long ago was it, and did you drink that person to the point of no return?" asks Knuckles. "About half and hour ago and I didn't drink any one to the point of no return," responds Diane. "We were wondering if you knew of a counter curse," says Sonic. "I don't know personally, but I do know where we can look for the answer," says Knuckles. "Where?" "In the book of darkness," says Knuckles, "Unfortunately, the book was stolen by the infamous vampire twins." "Where do they hang there hats?" asks Justin. "In a cave, one mile north of Pineview village," answers Knuckles. "We'll leave for Pineview village tomorrow night," says Dan. "Then you will have time for me to tell you about Diane's new abilities," says Knuckles. "Well, we already know that she has super speed," says Sonic. "That's not even half of her new powers. She now posses super strength; she can also track people by the scent of there blood," starts Knuckles. "She might be able to become invisible and teleport," says Dan as he remembers his first fight with Rash. "Right. She might have those powers," says Knuckles, "You better make sure that you're careful in Pineview. They don't take kindly to vampires. The terror twins have made sure of that. The citizens will kill her without thinking twice. Even the protection the of the king or a guardian will not be able to save her." "So we'll have to hide the fact the she is a vampire from them," says Dan. "But when the sun comes up, they might see Diane starting to burn," says Sonic. "Not if you cast this spell on her," says Knuckles as he writes down the words to a magic spell. "This spell will let her survive outside after sunrise," asks Justin curiously. "Yes, but the only person, other than me who can cast this spell is Dan because it is written in the language of the guardians," says Knuckles. "How come you didn't translate it into standard?" asks Justin. "Because it would of lost some of its meaning in the translation, and that small bit is crucial in making the spell work." "Oh." "Well, Dan, don't you think that you should cast that spell," asks Julie-su. "Yeah, I should," says Dan as he reads the spell out loud. Diane is instantly surrounded by a soft heavenly light that is followed up with a streak of lightening that fills her with a strength that she has never known before. "Dan, did the spell work?" asks Sonic. "We'll find out at sunrise," says Diane after the glowing has faded. "Unfortunately that isn't for several hours," says Knuckles. "So we'll just catch some Z's until then," yawns Sonic. "That's not a bad idea," comments Julie-su quickly. "Yeah." "Julie-su and I have some extra rooms back our place," offers Knuckles. The group of six head towards Knuckle's and Julie-su's home after Dan and friends accept Knuckle's offer. The next morning, "Diane, time to get up," says Dan. "I'm up. I'm up," says Diane sleepily. "It's also time for breakfast," adds Dan. Diane gets the hint and gently sinks her fangs into Dan's arm. Dan winces in pain as his wife begins drinks his blood. After a few minutes Diane releases Dan's arm and bandages it. "I can't wait for when we leave to find and recover that book of darkness," says Diane. "Unfortunately we have to wait for night fall. Because it will be easier to find the vampire twins at night when they are out searching for fresh victims to feed on. I'll teleport us as close as possible to Pineview Village, but you'll have to hide your fangs and eat solid food for awhile," says Dan. "I'll gladly forget what I've been turned into and pretend that I'm back to normal even if it is for a little while," says Diane. "But you might have the urge to throw up because you're body no longer craves solid food instead it craves blood. Also it has gotten use to 'running off' blood for 'fuel'," reminds Dan. "So I'll just try and not over do ingesting solid food." "Good. That's all that I can ask of you," finishes Dan as he gives Diane a kiss. "Yo, Dan, Diane; are you two up yet?" calls out Sonic. "Yeah, we are," calls back Dan as he pulls on his sneaks and gloves. "Okay. Knux and the others are waiting in the kitchen for you two," adds Sonic. "Tell them that we are one our way down," calls out Diane as she gets dressed as well. "Well, it's about time that you two got down here," jokes Justin. "Breakfast is on the table, but by the looks of that bandage, I'd have to say that Diane has all ready eaten," says Knuckles when he saw Diane and Dan walk into the kitchen and the blood marks on the bandage. "Yeah, she has," states Dan as he and Diane sit at the table. "Dan, you don't look so good," says Julie-su. "Don't worry about Dan, Julie-su. He has the best medical plan of them all," says Knuckles. "Yeah, how many medical plans guarantee that you'll come back to life after you had just died," comments Justin. "Not many," adds Sonic. Dan's eyes slowly close, and then his head sinks to the table. "Diane, I think that you drank a little too much of Dan's blood," observes Julie-su. "I'll have to watch that in the future," says Diane. "You could always feed on Justin's or my blood," offers Sonic. "Yeah right. What if I drink too much of your blood, causing one of you two to become a vampire? You know perfectly well that Sally will personally drive a stake through my heart if that person is Sonic," Diane admits sternly, "Besides, Dan is the only one that I can safely drink to the point of death and won't turn into a vampire when he comes to." "I guess that you do have a point," Sonic realizes. "Well, now we have to wait for Dan to wake up again," says Justin. "I'm going to brush my teeth," says Diane as she stands up and walks out of the kitchen. "Zzzzz..." "Not again!," yells Sonic as Dan starts to snore for the second time. "Somebody roll Dan onto his side," adds Justin quickly. Julie-su and Knuckles roll Dan onto his side after they had placed him on the couch. Dan's snoring again becomes silent. After a few minutes, Diane returns to find Dan lying on the couch. "Let me guess , he had started snoring again." "Yes, he did. Diane, will you please try not to drink too much of his blood. We don't need him collapsing into a deep sleep on us in the middle of a tight situation," says Sonic. "Okay, I won't drink as much of his blood," says Diane as she throws up her arms in defeat. "Good, now back to this counter curse business," says Justin. "The twins would of had hidden the book somewhere in their cave," informs Knuckles. "So how do we find the book's hiding place," asks Sonic. "I don't know: but it won't be too hard to find," says Knuckles, "You'll have to be careful when you fight the vampire twins though. The twin who is called Slash enjoys 'toying' with her victims before she drinks their blood. Her twin brother, Thrash, enjoys the thrill of hunting down his victims first." "Great, don't you vampires do anything like a normal person," says Justin sarcastically. "Lets find out," hisses Diane viciously. They quickly get into an argument. "Will you two knock it off," yells Dan. "Dan, good thing that you woke up," says a relieved Sonic. "So, what woke you up," asks Knuckles. "Diane and Justin fighting woke me up." "Sorry, dear," Diane sheepishly says. "That's okay. Just what where you two fighting about," asks Dan. "Knux just told us a little bit about the terror twins, and Justin said something that Diane didn't like one bit," says Sonic. "Justin, will you please refrain from making any comments about vampires," says Dan icily "Okay, I will. I will," says Justin quickly with his arms up in the air. "Dan, how come you didn't decide too leave while the sun is still up?" asks Julie-su. "Because it is easier to track vampires when they are out on the prowl and to provide us with some cover in case a villager is nearby. There is no way to predict on how that person will react when they see us appear in a puff of smoke," reasons Dan. "Oh." Later during sun set, "Diane, what are you doing out here?" asks Dan. "Just watching the sun set, and wondering how our daughters are doing," says Diane. Meanwhile back at Mobotropolis palace, "Alicia, Danielle, and Michelle bed time," calls out Sally. "Aww, mom, can't we stay up a little bit longer," pleads Alicia. "Please, Aunt Sally. Pretty please," also plead Danielle and Michelle with big round, pleading eyes. "No, you three are now going to bed," answers Sally as she leads the three little children to their beds. After the children have fallen asleep, Sally lazily sat in a chair in the rec. room. "Sally, what's wrong?" asks Rosie. "How do they get those two too go to bed?" asks Sally wearily. "Who?" "Dan and Diane, how do they manage to get Danielle and Michelle too go to bed every night? I thought that one child is hard enough at times, but twins are even harder to care for," says Sally. "Well, Sally, those two are quite spirited, pretty much like their father is now. Dan and Diane also help each other out; you on the other hand did this task alone," says Rosie. "Because Sonic went with Dan and Diane to go talk to Knuckles along with Justin," adds Sally. "Queen Sally, King Sonic is calling from the floating island," informs a royal guard. "Okay, I'll take it in here," says Sally as she walks to a nearby terminal. "Hi, Sal," says Sonic's image as the call was routed to the rec. room. "Hi, dear. How is it going?" "Knux didn't know if there is a counter curse, but he did tell us where we might find it." "Where," asks Sally. "In the book of darkness, but one snag, it was taken by the vampire twins. We're leaving now to recover the missing book." "How is Diane holding up?" "She is a little stressed out about her condition, but other than that she is acting fine. But you look a little ragged, Hun." "Well, how about you try to watch over Alicia, Danielle, and Michelle at the same time, and then see how you feel," says Sally tiredly. "Sal, how about asking Rosie to help," reminds Sonic "I will, thanks, dear, and take care of yourselves," says Sally sweetly. "We always do. Bye, Sal." "Bye, Sonic," finishes Sally's image as it winked out. "Ready to go?" "Yeah, lets go get that book from the vampire twins," says Justin. Dan quickly nods and says, "Hang on." In a puff of pure white smoke, Dan and friends had vanished from sight. Knuckles shakes his head and says, "Definitely getting as bad as Archie." Later at the edge of Pineview village, "Halt who goes there?" "King Sonic and friends," answers Sonic. "King Sonic!!! The King Sonic!" says the sentry disbeleavingly. "Yes, I am," says Sonic. The sentry quickly moves aside and annouces Sonic's arrival to the village's mayor. Shortly after the annoucement, "King Sonic, welcome to Pineview Village," greeted the mayor, "I'll be honored if you and your friends would join my wife and me for dinner." "We would love to join you and your wife for diner," says Sonic with the others giving him a nod of approval. At the mayor's mansion, "John, who are our quests?" asks the mayor's wife. "Maria, this is King Sonic and I didn't catch your names," says John. "I'm Justin Hedgehog." "Are you related to the king," asks Maria. "Yes, I am. We're brothers." "I'm Dan Michaels and this is my wife Diane," says Dan as the mayor and his spouse notice Dan's birthmark. "Are you a...." "Peace Guardian? Yes, I am." During dinner, " So what bring you four out here?" asks Maria. "We are going from village to village finding out how they are doing since the war ended and reconstruction started," says Sonic "Well, we're doing fine dispite all that has happened to us." "Oh? What happened?" asks Diane who has her fangs retracted. "We've been constantly attacked by the vampire twins; Slash and Thrash." "So what have you done to stop them?" "All that we can do, until we find were they sleep during the day," says the mayor, "and that's posting sentries at the entrances during night time." "Well, looks like you're doing a good job keeping the citizens safe," says Diane. "Thanks, once we do find their lair. We'll drive stakes throught their hearts," adds the mayor. Diane feels a bit of resentment towards the mayor because of his statement. "Just be careful when you do confront them," says Dan as he holds his wife's hand. Later at Dan's and Diane's room at the inn, "I can't believe that the mayor said that in front of me," says Diane angrily and with her fangs fully extended. "Diane, your fangs," says Dan as he pointed to his teeth, "Besides you tricked them pretty well. They didn't know or suspect that you are a vampire." "Yeah, but I still didn't like it," says Diane as she held her stomach. Knock, knock. "Who's there?" calls Dan. "It's Sonic and Justin." Dan gets up, looks to see if they are alone, and opens the door wider. "Come in," says Diane as Sonic and Justin walk into the room. "Diane, did we catch you at a bad time?" asks Sonic as he spots her exposed fangs. "No, I just lost my temper," says Diane as her fangs started to retract. "Oh, but you do look hungry," adds Justin. "Diane, dear. He's right. Are you ready to drink," asks Dan. "Yeah, I guess so," replies Diane as Sonic watches the door. Diane plunges her fangs into her husband's arm and starts to drink the free flowing blood. After five large mouth fulls of the crimson fluid, Diane extracts her fangs from Dan's arm. "Diane, are you sure that you had enough to drink?" asks Dan. "Yes, I am. We don't want you to pass out at this point in the search," says Diane. "Right, you passed out twice so far. We don't need you to do so for a third time," says Sonic. "And don't get us started on your snoring," adds Justin. "I get the point," says Dan as he bandages his arm. "I don't mind your snoring," adds Diane sweetly. "Well, it's getting late," says Sonic as he and Justin leave for their rooms. "Diane, ready for bed?" "Not yet. I just want you to hold me," says Diane. Dan notices her sad, dejected look, he wraps his arms around his wife to comfort her. Diane does the same, and they sit on the bed holding each other. The sun rises and reavels Dan and Diane holding each other. Diane buries her head into Dan's neck and shoulder. Diane, it's morning," says Dan. "Hmm Hemm," moans Diane as she buries her face deeper into Dan's neck and shoulder. "Time for breakfast," adds Dan. "Can't I skip a feeding," respondes Diane sleepily. "No, you can't, dear. Unless you want them to see your fangs?" asks Dan. "No, I don't," shudders Diane as she thinks about what might happen to her, "Okay, after you have eaten." "That's fine, do you want anything from room service?" "You now perfectly well that I crave only blood," says Diane. "We have to keep up the ruse as long as possible," reminds Dan. "Right, well, a blueberry muffin and a glass of orange juice," says Diane. "Hello, room service," respondes a voice over the phone. "Yes, an order of beacon and eggs, toast, one blueberry muffin, and two glasses of OJ," says Dan. "How would you like your eggs prepared?" asks the operator. "Fried." "Okay. It'll be on its way up shortly." "Thanks." Meanwhile in a cave, "So, bro, did you hear that the king and three of his friends are in Pineview?" asks Slash. "No, I didn't." "How about going to feed on their blood tonight?" "How did you learn about their visit, Sis?" "I 'charmed' it out of a sentry before I feed on him." "Well, while you were out 'playing' with your food; I had learned that a peace guardian is in the area." "I thought that they had died out a while ago." "Obviously someone was born with the mark and the powers," says Thrash. Back at the inn, Dan and Diane had finished their breakfasts that was brought up by room service. "So, Diane, ready to feed?" "Yeah, I guess so," Diane plunges her fangs into Dan's arm and starts to drink the blood that is oozing around her fangs. "Dan and Diane, ready to go," asks Sonic as he looks in on Diane and Dan. "Yup," says Dan as Diane removed her fangs and rebandaged his arm. "We'll meet you in the lobby," says Sonic as he left. "I better brush my teeth," says Diane. "Good idea," says Dan as he checks his and Diane's packs to make sure that everything is there. "I'm ready to go now," says Diane as she steps out of the bathroom. "Well ,we're all set," says Dan as they picked up there packs. Later at the lobby, "King Sonic, becareful outside of the village walls. Last night, one of the twins tricked and feed upon a sentry," warns the mayor. "Well, we're going to make them wish that they never messed with us," says Justin confidently. "With Dan as your friend. You, four, sure will be able to make them regret attacking any one," says John as Dan and Diane walk up to their friends. "Well, well, well, speak of the devil, and he shall appear," jokes Sonic. Dan grins and adds, "You know what they say about playing with fire." "Ut-oh." Sonic nervously smiles and says, "I was just kidding!" "Me too," remarks Dan as he laughed, "We better get going now if we want to reach the next town before night fall." "Right," says Sonic, "Good luck with your battle with the vampire twins." "We'll try to beat them." "As long as you try," says Dan, "That's all we ask." Sonic leads the way to the edge of town with the mayor telling the four what areas to avoid. "Don't worry, we'll avoid those spots." "Pleasant journey, your majesty," calls out Maria as Sonic and group wave good bye to the mayor and wife. Later at a clearing, "Now that we are out of the sentries' line of sight, lets go find those twins. So that we can find that book," says Sonic. "Yeah, lets go," says Diane as she revs up her legs and races off for the mountians. "That's going to take some getting use to," says Justin. "What is going to take some getting use to?" asks Dan. "Diane having our speed," replies Justin. Diane races back and asks, "Are you guys coming?" "I don't know about Sonic and Justin, but I'm ready to go," says Dan as he walks up to Diane. "We're ready too," adds Sonic. "Good, I've found the twin's cave," says Diane as she leads them to the cave. At the base of the mountian, "This is just peachy. Knux forgot to mention the fact that the cave is half way up a steep and rocky mountian," says Dan. "You could teleport us up there, dear," says Diane. "Yeah I could, but there is no safe place to teleport to execpt for the cave," answers Dan as he picked his way up the mountian. "Good point," says Diane as she follows him along with Sonic and Justin. By the time the group are half way to the cave, night has already fallen. "Okay, we'll rest here," says Sonic. Crack, snap, "What was that?" asks Diane. "I'll go find out," says Dan as he cautiously approaches some bushes, and looks around the bushes. "There's nothing here." Then an orange with black stripes streak grabs Dan and races to the other side. When it stopped they see that it is a tiger-girl with vampire fangs. "It's Slash," calls out Diane with her fangs retracted again. Dan strugglesd with all his might to break free, but Slash sinks her fangs into Dan's neck. "Not again!" yells out Dan. He is quickly drained of his blood for the second time. "Delicious," says Slash while grinnig evilly. "Dan!!!" yells Diane as she feels two fangs peirce her skin. "What?!?! No blood?!?" calls out Thrash. Diane with her supernatural strength and speed punches Thrash. "Surprise," Diane adds with her fangs fully extended. "She's a vampire! Like us." "Wrong, I'm not like you. My soul is free from the demon's grasp," hisses Diane. Diane tries to whack Thrach again, but Slash drops Dan's body and hits Diane in the back out the head. Diane falls to the ground, out cold. "Good thing that you've feed on that girl awhile ago, bro," says Slash. "Yeah, it was; we'll save these two for snacks later tonight," says Thrash as he knocked Sonic's and Justin's heads together. They pick up the four unfortunate heros and carry them to their cave. "Uhgn, Justin, Diane, are you two okay?" "Yeah, we are," says Diane. "Good, lets get out of here," says Sonic as he tries to leave, "No good, we're chained up." "So you're finally awake," says Thrash. "We're getting hungry," adds Slash. Dan's birthmark glows, and then he slowly sits up, hides his birthmark, and walks up to the twins. "Ah, you've woken up. Just in time for dinner," says Slash. Dan grins, revealing fangs of his own. "No," screams Diane. Slash faces their victims and choses Sonic to be her next meal. Dan winks at Diane and smashes the twins' heads together, knocking them out. "I knew that these things would come in handy, again," says Dan as he removed a pair of fake fangs from his mouth. "Dan, you tricked us," says Diane as Dan unlocked their manicles. "Yeah I did, but we better chain these two up before they come to," says Dan as he picked up Slash. "Right," says Sonic as he and Justin pick up Thrash. Diane closes the manicles as the wrists of the twins were raised into position. "Now lets find that book," says Justin. The four look all over the cave except one spot, a pile of old bones. "Do you think that the book is hidden in that pile," says Justin. "Well, it's the only spot left," says Diane after she extracted her fangs from Dan's arm. She then goes over and looks. "Found it!" "Can I see it, Diane," says Dan. "Okay, here it is," says Diane as she hands him the book. "Let's see if it's in here," says Dan as he thumbed through the book, "and Bingo was his name oh." "Dan, what did you find," asks Justin. "I've found the counter-curse," says Dan. "Well, lets get this over with," says Diane eagerly. "Okay," says Dan as he draws a star inside a circle. "Dan, what sre you doing?" "Drawing a penticle," replies Dan as he writes something inside the star. "Now for the next step," says Dan before he starts to speak in another tongue. The cave is lit up by a bright, heavenly light that's coming from the penticle. After the light had died, Dan feels for a normal pulse on Diane's neck. "Diane, it worked! You're back to normal," says Dan happily. "That's great! I don't have to drink blood anymore!" "Uhgnn, what happened?" asks Thrash. "Yeah, and why are we chained up," asks Slash. "Sonic, please go and unchain them," says Dan. "Why, they'll just drink us dry," says Sonic. "What is he talking about?" "Hey! Our fangs are gone! We're back to normal," says Thrash excitedly. "Yeah, they are gone," adds Slash happily. "Does the counter-curse affect all vampires?" asks Sonic as he frees Slash and Thrash. No, it doesn't. I included them as well," says Dan. "How?" "I wrote their names a long with Diane's," answers Dan. "You mean those symbols in the penticle?" "Yes, each line is a different name," says Dan, "Also the counter-curse and names had to be spoken/writen in the language of the guardians." "When you spoke again after you wrote the names it was in some strange tongue." "Yeah, that was the guardian language in spoken form. Guardians' will use it to talk to ather guardians when we don't want anybody to worry about any serious problems the we, guardians, can handle." "Oh." "We better get back," says Dan. "But we can't go back to Pineview," protests Thrash. "You, two can start a new life inMobotropolis," says Sonic. "You can offer that?" asks Thrash. "I am the king," says Sonic, "I'm sure that Sally will agree with me on this one." "Thanks, for your offer. It will help us to make up for all the evil things that we did to other people," says Slash. "Everyone ready to go?" "Yeah." "Then hold one," says Dan as the six disappear. At the palace, "Mom and Dad are back," calls out Danielle as she ran up to Diane followed by Michelle who ran up to Dan. "Why are you two still up?" asks Dan sternly. "We wanted to wait for you two to come home," Michelle shyly. "You know that you two are suppose to be in bed by this time," adds Diane. "Where's Sally." asks Sonic. "Mom is in the thrown room," says Alicia as she walks up to Sonic. "Now, Alicia, what are you doing out of bed," asks Sonic. "I heard Danielle and Michelle running in the hallway," answers Alicia. "Well, you better go back to bed, before mom sees you up and about," says Sonic. "But, dad, can I stay up longer?" "No, now go to bed," says Sonic in a slightly sharper tone. Alicia races off towards her bedroom. "She inherited her speed from her dad," says Diane before Slash or Thrash could ask. Later in the thrown room, Sonic quietly walks up to a sleeping Sally then kisses her softly. Sally slowly opens her eyes and, "Sonic! You're home!" "Yeah, I'm home, Sal. Plus, we have two new friends in the hall," says Sonic. "Oh? Who?" "Their names are Thrash and Slash," replies Sonic. "The vampire twins!!!" calls out Sally. "Don't worry, dear. Dan returned them to normal," says Sonic. "Well, lets go meet them," says Sally as she slowly stood up. Sonic and Sally slowly walk to the hall, "I thought that you two are in bed!?!" "Sorry, Aunt Sally," says Danielle. "Are you related to Diane?" asks Slash. "No, we're not. But we consider each other family because of the time we spent helping each other while we lived in Knothole," says Sally. "Oh, now what do we do with this," asks Thrash as he holds up the book of darkness, "Burn it?" "No, if we do that, we will release all of the darkness and evil that's locked inside it. Sonic, is there a very secure place that we can lock it in?" says Dan. "Yeah, the palace's vualt." "Uh, Sonic, my sis and I stole it from a vualt that was just as secure as the palace's vualt," says Thrash. "Well, I don't know where else that we can lock it in," says Sonic. "I can always ask Knux to guard it for us," says Dan as he disappeared. At the floating island, "Knux, can you guard this book for us," asks Dan. "Sure, I'll place it with the chaos emeralds," says Knuckles. "Thanks," respondes Dan, "If that book fals into the wrong hands we're in for alot of trouble." "Yeah, it does have that potential," adds Knuckles glumly. "Well, I gotta go," says Dan as he vades into a plume of smoke. "Dan, how did it go?" asks Sally. "Perfectly, Knux. is guarding the book," says Dan. "Now that it is in a secure location, we can rest alot easier," says Slash. "That's true, because it also can turn any one into a super villian." The End or is it????? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Back stage: "Dan, this was a weird story. The quest stars were interesting though," says Sonic. "Yeah, but at least you didn't have to wear tubes filled with tomato juice, like Diane and me," says Dan. "Or wear fake fangs all the time like I had too. Do you know how hard it is to eat with them in?" says Diane, "I sure do. I couldn't remove them for lunch." "Oh, Dan, during the story you adlibed," says Sonic. "No, I didn't. I sticked to the script," says Dan. "No, you didn't." "Yes, I did!" "Chill, both of you! We'll settle this once and for all," says Justin. "Fine, Dan, I bet you one hundred fifty chili dogs, that you adlibed." "I'll take that bet, any one else?" "I'm in, I say that he didn't adlib," defends Diane. "This is a sucker's bet. I have to agree with Dan," says Justin. "Okay, lets see. Hey it is in here! Dan, you must of rigged this," says Sonic. "Rigged what?" asks Sally. "The script." "Sonic, he didn't rig it. You didn't read it when you got it. Did you?" asks Sally. "No, I didn't read it, Sal." "Welp, it looks like you lost this bet. Remember, Diane and I like them spicy," says Dan as he, Diane, and Justin walk off. "Oh, man! I lost big time," says Sonic. "What did you bet?" asks Sally worriedly. "I bet one hundred fifty chili dogs to each taker," says Sonic. Sally justs calmly pats Sonic on the back while saying, "There, there, it could be worst." "Oh how?" "You could of lost six hundred chili dogs." Sonic faints into an unconscious heap. Sally shakes her head sadly as she tries to wake up Sonic. Author's note: I wrote this fan fic for fun not profit.
