Sonic the Hedgehog: The Sister That He Never Had

	Sonic, Dan, and Tails are in a meadow, Dan is teaching Tails some 
martial arts moves, and poor Sonic is the training dummy.  "Tails, remember 
the breathing techniques that I taught you?" asks Dan.
	"Yes, <huff> I <Puff> do," answers a winded Tails.
	"Then use them as you fight your opponent," reminds Dan.
	"Right."  Tails and Sonic spar for a few more minutes, this time it's 
Sonic that had to stop the match.  "Your <pant> getting <wheeze> better, 
<cough> little <huff> bro," says Sonic as he gasps for breath.
	"Come on, Sonic.  I'm not even breathing hard," jokes Tails.  Dan gives 
Tails a stern look and says, "Tails, always treat you opponents with respect, 
just like you do with your elders."  Tails has a down trodden look on his face 
and then apologizes to Sonic.  Sonic and Tails go back to sparing, when Sally 
is walking into the meadow and asks, "How is Tails' training coming?"
	"He is improving," says Dan with an emphasis on is.  Sonic again breaks 
off the match out of breath again.  "All though Sonic is going to be a mess 
for awhile," informs Dan.  Sonic catches his breath and says, "I'd like to see 
you spar him."
	"Yeah, I would like to have a real challenge," says an excited Tails.
	"Okay, you're the one who asked for this match not me," warns Dan.  
Tails and Dan assume their fighting stances.  They bow and then Tails makes 
the first move.  He lunges for Dan.  Dan deftly side steps Tails' lunge and 
catches Tails' wrist and gently tosses him to the ground.  The match lasted 
for almost an hour.  "Even I didn't last this long against Tails," comments 
Sonic.  Then Dan finishes the match with a round house kick, but he stops one 
centimeter from Tails' nose.  Tails was sweating profusely from all of the 
exertion of the match.  "Dan, how come you're not sweating," asks an exhausted 
Tails.  "Because, Tails, I fought smart not hard, and I also conserved my 
energy until you wore yourself out," says Dan, "You still have a lot to learn, 
but you are improving.  Keep practicing and you will be as good or better than
me."
	"Thanks, Dan."
	"Wow!  Dan, you're good, but didn't you cut it a little close there?" 
asks Sonic.
	"Yeah, I did, but when I spared my instructor.  He stopped one 
millimeter from my nose," says Dan.
	"Now, that's cutting it close," says Sally.
	"Tell me about it.  I almost lost control of my bladder," Dan says 
frankly.
	"You're joking right," asks Sonic.  Dan shacks his head no; Sally and 
Sonic stand there in the meadow shocked and with their mouths hanging open.
	Meanwhile in a parallel universe, "What's the matter, Robo bro?  Can't 
catch me?" taunts a young, green hedgehog-girl as she runs at half of Sonic's 
speed.  "HALT ORGANIC LIFEFORM OR BE TERMINATED," drones on a robotic version 
of Sonic.  "You should know me better than that, bro."  Then the robot 
activates its missile launcher.  The hedgehog-girl looks back and sees that 
her roboticized brother, Justin Hedgehog, has activated its missile launcher.  
"Ut-oh!"  She tries to pick up the pace a little bit more.  Then a large 
golden ring appears in front of the hedgehog-girl, she tries to stop but 
can't.  She skids right into the ring.  The robot fires its missile just as 
its sister enters the ring.  By the time the missile reached her, the ring has 
already disappeared.  The part of the robot that could still feel was glad 
that its sister had escaped from it.  The bot turns around to go tell its 
master of its failure to stop the running hedgehog.
	Meanwhile inside the ring, "Where am I?  How do I get out?" asks the 
girl.  Just as she poses these questions, she emerges from the ring right back 
at where she started.  "Hey, who are you?" asks a strange voice.  She looks 
behind herself and sees a two tail fox that's about her age.  "My name is 
Jessica," answers the hedgehog, "What's your's and is there any place that is 
safe where I can stay?"
	"First, my name is Tails, and I'll show you to my village," replies 
Tails.  They walk down a concealed path that leads to Knothole.  They shortly 
arrive at Knothole.  "We're here," says Tails.  Jessica looks around and sees 
a bustling village full of people.  "Wow!!!  This place is larger than where I 
use to live."
	"Hey, Tails, ready for your lessons," calls Dan as he walks up to them.  
Jessica's face has an expression of hate, anger, and mistrust.  She 
instinctively reaches for her laser pistol, takes aim, and fires.  "Dan!  Look 
out," yells Tails.  Dan fades away one second before the beam hits him and 
reappears behind Jessica holding her gun and one of her arms behind her back.  
The beam strikes a large boulder causing it to explode.  "Guns and children 
never ever mix," hisses Dan in Jessica's ear.  He lets go of Jessica's arm.  
She quickly snaps back, "Well, bounty hunter, aren't you going to turn me in 
to Robuttnik so that you can collect the bounty on me?"
	"Listen, little girl.  First of all, Robuttnik has been dead for 
months," says Dan irritably, "and second of all, I'm no bounty hunter." 
	"Dan, what was that noise?" asks Sally as she and the other core freedom 
fighters run to the scene.  "Oh nothing, but I think that we are a little 
short of info," says Dan while tossing away the gun.
	"So where shall I begin," asks Jessica.
	"How about your name and how you ended up here," says Sally.
	"Okay, my name is Jessica Hedgehog," starts Jessica, then she notices 
the look of shock on everyone's' faces, "What? Did I say something wrong?"
	"No, you didn't, but do you know anyone by the name of Sonic Hedgehog?" 
asks Dan.  "No, I don't. Why?"
	"We'll explain later, after your story," answers Sally.
	"Okay, how I ended up here is a long story, but I'll start at the 
beginning.  My brother, Justin Hedgehog, led a team of six into Metropolis 
Zone.  When he and the others were captured and roboticized.  A few months 
later, Robuttnik attacks my village home with my brother leading his mecha 
army.  I took off to find some help, then he ran after me.  I would make a 
wise crack or two at him.  He then activates and fires a missile at me, but I 
ran through a giant golden ring that closed behind me.  Then I ended up near 
here.  Then I met Tails and he lead me here," tells Jessica.  Tey all hear a 
sonic boom, Jessica becomes nervous.  But the others just act like it's 
nothing.  "Yo, Sal, I got Unc's latest report," calls Sonic as he coasted to a 
stop.  "Justin?  Is that you?" asks a surprised Jessica.
	"No, the name is Sonic."
	"But you resemble my brother.  Except for your eyes.  Your eyes are 
brown while his are green," says Jessica.
	"Sally, I have a theory," says Rotor, "But, lets go to the med. hut to 
start testing it."
	Later at the med. hut, "Sonic, you and Jessica are related.  The DNA 
tests prove it," says Rotor.
	"But I don't have any sisters or cousins," points out Sonic.  Dan picks 
up one Rotor's prompting. "Not in this dimension," says Dan while he was 
leaning against a wall with his head down in thought.
	"Uh? What do you mean, Dan?"
	"I mean that Jessica is a relative of yours, but she is from a parallel 
universe.  The giant golden ring was an interdimensional gateway of some 
kind."
	"You mean I'm in a parallel universe!!!"
	"Yup.  Don't worry we'll figure out a way to return you to your universe 
and help you free your brother and friends," says Dan, "Right?"
	"Yeah!!!"
	"It'll be fun to trash Robuttnik again," says Sonic.
	"Hey, Rotor, how are Sonic and Jessica related," asks Sally.
	"UMM.  It looks like she is his sister," answers Rotor.
	"Hey, Sally.  Is it okay if I help out and build up my skills," asks 
Jessica.  "Sure, but your training is up to Dan and Sonic though," says Sally.
	"We don't mind having another student," Dan and Sonic say in unison.
	Two days later, "Yo, Sis.  Time to get up," calls Sonic.
	"All right.  I'm up," calls out Jessica from her room.  Sonic is 
standing in their living room waiting for Jessica when he feels the urge to 
say 'I'm waiting'.  "So what's up, bro?" asks Jessica as she walked out into 
the living room.  "Uncle Chuck has some new info for us," says Sonic as he 
grabs his pack.  "This can be my chance to meet him," Jessica excitedly says.
	"Sure why not," says Sonic.  The two take off for Robotropolis so that 
they can pick up the data from Uncle Chuck.  The duo quickly arrive at 
Robotropolis' garbage dump.  "Wait here," says Sonic as he walks up to a trash 
pile.  "Uh, bro?  Why are we meeting Unc here?" asks Jessica.
	"Because this is where his HQ is located," replies Sonic as he knocks on 
the pile.  "Come in," calls out a voice from inside the pile.
	"Come on, Sis," says Sonic as he opens a hidden door.  The two enter the 
secret hide out of Uncle Chuck.  "Ah, Sonic, my boy good to see you again, and 
who is this," asks Uncle Chuck as he walks out of the shadows.  What happened 
next was Jessica panicking at the sight of a robotic hedgehog with bushy 
eyebrows and mustache.  "Hey, Jess, calm down.  He is on our side.  We freed 
his mind from Robotink's control," says Sonic.
	"Oh.  Sorry I was expecting him to be flesh and blood not a robot," says 
Jessica, "So how did it happen?"  Uncle Chuck tells Jessica his story on how 
he created the roboticizer and how Sonic had freed his mind.  "So Jessica is 
your name, right?" asks Uncle Chuck.
	"Yes, it is, but my full name is Jessica Hedgehog," says Jessica.  She 
notices Uncle Chuck's expression and tells him her story.  "I'm sorry about 
your brother, but we will be able to free his mind with a power ring but only 
for a moment," says Uncle Chuck.
	"What's a power ring?"
	"This is a power ring," says Sonic as he pulls out a golden ring from 
his pack.  Jessica's eyes go wide with surprise.  "That looks like the portal 
that brought me here," says Jessica.
	"Hey, Unc, do you think that these will work for Jess?"
	"Well lets try it," says Jessica eagerly.
	"Okay," says Sonic as they walk outside.  "Hold the ring high in the air 
to activate it."  Sonic hands Jessica the power ring.  She holds the ring up 
high.  The ring's energy envelopes her the same way it does Sonic, and she is 
off in a flash with Sonic keeping up with her.  "Wow!!!  This ring just 
doubled my speed," says an ecstatic Jessica.
	"That's the ring's job a speed boost, but it can be used only once, and 
once they are picked up they last for twenty-four hours after that they 
disappear," informs Sonic.
	Later back at Knothole,  "You took your little sister to Robotropolis!" 
yells Sally.
	"Yeah, so she can meet Uncle Chuck.  We also found out that she can use 
the power rings," defends Sonic.  "That's no excuse, Sonic Hedgehog.  She 
could of been captured and then roboticized. This is the second time that you 
did something like this.  As a punishment, you have KP duty for a month!" 
says Sally, "Is that clear?!?!"
	"Yes, madam," replies Sonic as he left Sally's hut.
	"Get in trouble for bringing me to meet Unc, bro?" asks Jessica who was 
waiting outside Sally's hut.  "Yeah, Sally gave me KP duty for a month," says 
Sonic.  "Bummer," says Jessica.
	"Hey, Jessica.  Time for our training sessions," calls out Tails.
	"On my way," replies Jessica as she speeds off.
	"Man! I hate KP duty.  Last time I had it I didn't want to look at 
another potato for years," thinks Sonic as he walks to the dining hall.
