	"Dan; Sally and I have been going out for awhile, and I'm thinking of 
asking her to marry me," tells Sonic,  "What do you think?"
	"Well, go for it.  The worst that can happen is her saying no.  At least 
you let her know how you feel," responds Dan.
	"Thanks, bud.  I could use your help in preparing for the date tonight," 
says Sonic as he tells Dan his plan.  After hearing Sonic's plan, "You want me 
to play what?!?" exclaims Dan.
	"I want you to play the violin for Sally's and my date," says Sonic, 
"and don't try to tell me that you don't know how to play it either.  Because 
I visited you during one of your lessons when we were younger."
	"Yeah, but I hated it," mumbles Dan.
	"Is it settled?"
 	"Yeah, it is."
	"Hey, Sonic and Dan.  Sally wants you two in the war room pronto," calls 
Sonic's sister.  "We're going there now," answers Sonic.  Sonic looks at Dan 
and adds, "Lets go see what Sally wants."
	"Yeah," answers Dan as they race off for the war room.
	"Now that every one is here," says Sally as she surveyed the room, 
"Today's mission is going to involve a series of controlled demolition.  
Objective one is the destruction of robot factory twenty-five.  Uncle Chuck's 
reconnaissance has pointed out that Snively is building a new kind of bot.  He 
calls it the Seeker bot.  Its purpose is to search for the location of 
Knothole and other FF. bases.  Objective two is this processing plant.  It's 
processing raw titanium and iron ore.  The same ores used in the manufacture 
of Snively's Mecha-Sonic.  The final objective is the destruction of this 
train.  It is transporting the raw ores to the processing plant.  Sonic and 
Dan will take out the bot factory.  Bunnie, Rotor, and Antoine will take out 
the processing plant.  Jessica, Tails, Diane, and I will take out the train."  
Sally quickly assigns the back up teams.  "Lets go cause some trouble," 
exclaims Sally.  "Yeah, lets do it to it," calls out the others.
	Ten minutes later at Robotropolis, "It's party time," says Sonic.
	"Yeah, lets do some damage," adds Dan.  They quickly head to the 
entrance and take out the guards.  They didn't notice the spy orb observing 
their actions.  Meanwhile in the command center, "Sir, the hedgehogs are at 
factory twenty-five," says Mecha-Sonic
	"Good.  You and my latest creation will take care of them," Snively says 
with evil glee.  Then another robotic hedgehog steps out of the shadows.  Its 
metal spines are the same length of Dan's and is a dull metallic gold.  The 
new bot and Mecha-Sonic take off for the factory at full speed.  "Now those 
hedgehogs are in trouble."
	"This is my chance to get even with that blonde hedgehog for blowing up 
the chaos laser with me in its housing," thinks Mecha-Sonic as it and the new 
bot are en route to the factory.  Meanwhile, Sonic and Dan are planting the 
charges through out the factory at full speed.  "Is that it?"
	"That's the last one.  Lets get to safety and blow this joint," says 
Sonic.  "Not so fast, hedgehogs," says Mecha-Sonic.
	"You again?  You were blown to bits," says Dan.
	"My head unit survived the blast and my master rebuilt me and built a 
nice surprise as well," says Mecha-Sonic.  Then it walked in and says, "Well, 
well, you're Dan Michaels.  To be honest, I'm not impressed and the name is 
Mecha-Dan."
	"I want Dan.  You take the blue loser," says Mecha-Sonic.
	"Loser!!!  I'll show you who's the loser, you walking junk pile," yells 
Sonic as he gets ready to attack the bot, but Mecha-Dan nails Sonic with a 
strike dash. "What ever floats your boat.  It won't take long," says Mecha-Dan 
while Sonic flies into the nearest wall.  "Lets turn up the heat," yells Dan 
as he quickly raises his left hand with his pointer and middle fingers 
sticking out.  A wall of fire flares up around Mecha-Sonic.  "What is going on 
here," yells the bot as its metal skin begins to melt.  The bot quickly runs 
out of the fire.  Just as Mecha-Sonic was about to slice Dan thirty ways from 
Sunday, Dan pulls out his sword.  Sonic was holding his own with Mecha-Dan,  
"Man! This bot is tough.  It's as fast as Dan and is protected by a force 
field.  How am I going to beat it?"  Dan notices Sonic's problem, yells, 
"Sonic, catch!" and then throws a turquoise object towards him.  Mecha-Dan 
tries to grab it in mid-air, but Sonic beats the bot to it.  As soon as Sonic 
touches it, he is surrounded by rings made out of stars.  "Way past cool," 
says Sonic as he looks at the rings.  Mecha-Dan makes its move, it rams Sonic 
at full speed, but it bounces off of the rings that are circling Sonic.  Sonic 
looks back and sees the bot lying on the floor off-line.  He grins and goes to 
help Dan.  Dan yells out, "Twin blades."  Then his sword glows and splits into 
two identical swords.  When Sonic gets near Dan, he sees that there is no need 
for his help.  Dan is currently slicing Mecha-Sonic one hundred fifty ways 
from Sunday.  After the bots were finished off, Dan says, "No matter which way 
you slice it." 
	"We come out on top," finishes Sonic with a grin.  They run out the 
building, and then they stop a few feet from the factory.  "Ready to blow this 
pop stand?" asks Sonic as he pulls out a remote detonator.
	"Lets get the fireworks started," says Dan as he pulls out his remote 
unit.  They press the button in unison, and the factory goes up in brilliant 
explosion which is followed by two more explosions off in the distance.  "Race 
you home," says Dan.
	"On three," adds Sonic.
	"Three," yells Dan as he takes off for Knothole.
	"Hey, no fair," yells Sonic as he races after his friend.  As they race 
off, a lone figure walks out of the destroyed factory with its body sparking 
from every joint; it says, "I'll <BZZT> get <VAP> you <CRACKLE> two <VZZT> for 
this."  Then it heads back to base to report its failure and the destruction 
of Mecha-Sonic to Snively.
	Back at Knothole, "Dr. Quack come quick.  Sally is badly injured," calls 
Diane as she carries Sally who is bleeding from her side into the med. hut.  
Dr. Quack quickly comes out, examines Sally's wound, and says, "I don't have 
the supplies needed to save her."
	"But I do have something that might help," says Dan as he and Sonic run 
into the hut.  "How?" asks Sonic.
	"Sonic, the object that I tossed to you.  Hand it to me," says Dan.  
Sonic hands him the turquoise gem.  Dan holds it in his palm and begins to 
concentrate.  The gem floats into the air and emits a azure beam that 
surrounds Sally.  Her wound closes before their very own eyes and disappears 
without a trace.  "How did you do that?  What is that gem?" asks a fully 
healed and confused Sally.  "With the power of the turquoise chaos emerald," 
says Dan.  "It really does exist!!" exclaims Diane.
	"Yup, its been in my family's possession for countless generations," 
says Dan proudly.  "Wow!  That's why I became invincible while I held it," 
says Sonic.  Dan nods his head, confirming Sonic's statement.  "I have to 
congratulate you two," says Sally.
	"Why?" 
	"Because we actually pulled off our mission with little help from Sally 
and Diane," says an excited Jessica.
	"Cool," says Sonic as he notices the pleased look on Sally's face.  
Sonic looks at his watch and adds, "I got to get ready for our date, Sal."
	"Okay.  I have to get ready, also," says Sally.  They walk out together.  
Then Dan and the others also leave for their huts as well.  Later after night 
has fallen and at the dining hall, "You realize that you will owe me big 
time," says an agitated Dan.  
	"Yeah, I know, I know," says Sonic.  Then Sally walks into the hall, she 
was immediately greeted by the sound of soft romantic violin music.  "Sonic, 
how did you get Nicole out of my hut?" asks Sally.
	"He didn't.  He roped me into doing this," says Dan as he played his 
violin.  Then Sally notices Dan standing in the corner playing a beautifully 
decorated violin.  "Dan, you play the violin?!?!"
	"Yeah, I do.  It's something from my past that came back to bite me in 
the backside," Dan says bitterly.  "All though I prefer the drums," silently 
adds Dan.  Sally sits at the table with Sonic.  They sat there quietly talking 
about this and that, sometimes it would turn into a small argument.  After 
their meal, Sonic got up and asks, "Care to dance?"
	"Sure," replies Sally as she got up and joins Sonic on a small dance 
floor.  They dance slowly for about forty-five minutes.  After the dance, 
Sonic gets down on one knee, pulls out a small box, opens it, and asks, "Sally 
Acorn, will you marry me?"
	Sally's eyes tear up and answers, "Yes, I will."  Sonic puts a lovely 
looking engagement ring on her finger.  When he stood up, Sally kissed him 
deeply and passionately.  Dan was tempted to say, 'It's a Kodak moment.', but 
he decided against it after remembering when Sonic showed up during his and 
Diane's kiss in the med. hut.  Sally and Sonic walk up to Dan and ask, "How 
come you didn't make any comments?"
	"Remember that incident where I threw Sonic out of the med. hut?"
	"Oh yeah.  We see your point," says Sonic.
	"Well , it's late and I'm off to bed," says Dan as he walked out of the 
dining hall.  "Sonic, how did you find out that Dan plays the violin?"
	"I caught him in the middle of a lesson of his before the coup 
happened," says Sonic.
	Meanwhile at Dan's hut, "I should toss this into the river, but why do I 
hang on to this," asks Dan to himself.  
	"Because, sweetie.  It is something out of your past and a reminder of 
your parents," says Diane as she entered his hut.  
	"How did you know?"
	Sonic told me about it when I noticed the annoyed look on your face when 
he asked you to play it for their date," answers Diane.
	"Oh.  Well, I would like to go to sleep," says Dan.
	"Okay, I'll head to my hut," says Diane as she walks out the door of the 
hut.  Dan fell asleep in his bed and dreamt about his parents and of other 
happier times before the coup.
	The next morning all of Knothole is awaken by the sound of someone 
playing the drums loudly.  "Who ever is playing those drums, I'll tear them 
limb from limb," Sonic says angrily.
	"Save a piece of him or her for me," adds an equally angry Sally.  They 
are quickly joined by other angry freedom fighters.  They follow the sound to 
a nearby meadow.  They all see Dan playing a drum set with his eyes closed.  
They all look at each other and say, "Dan also plays the drums?!?!"
	"I thought that Sonique was bad with his guitar," says Antoine.  Dan's 
playing becomes faster and faster. His hands are nothing but a series of 
white blurs.  He drumming is so fast that they can't hear it any more for it 
has exceeded their hearing range, but Dulcy comes crashing down and starts to 
complain about the volume of Dan's drumming.  "Is he awake?" asks one.
	"Has to be.  No way any one can play like that in his sleep," says 
another.  Then Dan's eyes fly open, the look of his eyes surprised them.  They 
were blank!  His eyes had always shown with his attitude, joy, love, 
friendliness, and mischievous nature.  Then he just collapses from exhaustion.  
Sonic rushes over and checks his best friend.  Dan wakes up and sees Sonic and 
his other friends around him.  Some were concerned, annoyed, or both.  "What 
happened?"
	"You woke us up with your playing," says Rotor.
	"I did?"
	"Yes, you did," adds Sally while trying not to sound annoyed.
	"Sorry, it won't happen again," says Dan.
	"Dan, how come it looked like you spaced out back there?" asks Sonic who 
was no longer angry about the rude awaking.  "Probably because I did, and I 
don't know why," says Dan.  They are heading towards the dining hall when 
Diane runs up to them and asks, "Where was he?"
	"In a meadow playing the drums," says Sonic.
	"You also play the drums?!?"
	"Yeah, I do, but better than the violin," comments Dan.  Diane notices 
the ring on Sally's finger.  "Sally, are you engaged to someone?" asks Diane.
	"Yeah, I'm going to be Sonic's wife in a few weeks."
	"You're lucky.  Dan hasn't proposed to me yet," says Diane a bit 
disappointed.  After the two girls go into the dining hall Sonic asks, "Dan, I 
thought that you love Diane very much.  How come you didn't propose to her?"
	"I don't know why I didn't asks her to marry me," responds Dan.
	"Scared?"
	"That's not it.  I just don't know why I'm holding back.  Maybe the 
moment hasn't been right."
	"Well okay.  I thought that you would of have been engaged by now," 
finishes Sonic as they walked into the hall.  Sally walks up to her fiancé and 
asks, "Well, what did he tell you about his reluctance?"
	"Not much, but he is hiding something.  What it is I don't know," 
answers Sonic.  "Well, lets announce our engagement," said Sally eagerly.  
Later after everyone had gathered for the meal, Sally and Sonic stood up and 
say, "We would like to make an announcement.  We are getting married in four 
weeks."  Before they could sit again, everyone came over and congratulated 
Sonic and Sally.  The next four weeks was spent on preparing for the wedding 
instead of raising Robotropolis.
	Finally the big day arrives, Sonic was standing by the power ring pool 
with Dan as his best man.  "Dan, what's the prob?"
	"Nothing, my tux itches," answers Dan.
	"He's lying.  I don't like to wear tuxes either, but Dan looks very 
nervous about something," thinks Sonic.  The music starts as Sally and party 
come walking down the aisle, Jessica is the flower girl, Tails is the ring 
bearer, and both Diane and Bunnie are the bride's maids.  When they take their 
places, the preacher asks, "Is there anyone with just cause why these two 
should not be wed.  Speak now or forever hold their peace."  After seeing that 
no one stood up or said any thing, the preacher went on with the ceremony.  
The wedding lasted for about half an hour.  "You may kiss the bride."  Sonic 
lifts the veil and kisses Sally deeply and passionately.  "I now pronounce you 
husband and wife."  Sonic and Sally walk down the aisle with people throwing 
rice into the air as they pass by.  "The reception is in half an hour at the 
dining hall," calls out Sally.  Dan walks towards his hut, when Sonic calls 
out, "Dan, are you going to attend the reception?"
	"Yeah, I am, but I need to take care of something back at my hut first."   
Five minutes later, Dan is looking in his hut for something.  Then he comes 
across a small black velvet covered case, and he then picks it up and opens 
it.  Sitting inside it is a golden ring with a small diamond with Dan's 
birthmark sculpted onto its surface.  "Found it."  Dan looks up at the time 
and slowly walks to the dining hall.  Dan arrives five minutes early, "So what 
kept ya?" asks Sonic.
	"I had to lock away my sword," lies Dan.
	"Yeah right," says Sonic sarcastically as he walks up to his wife.  Dan 
walks up to Diane and says, "We need to talk."  He looks around and adds, "in 
private."  Diane and Dan walk into a small side room.
	"I hope that he doesn't break up with her," says Sally.
	Sonic nods his head and adds, "Me too."
	"Diane, the past few weeks I've spent thinking about our relationship, 
and I've made up my mind," starts Dan.  Diane's expression changes to one of 
worry and despair.  "I hope that he isn't dumping me," she glumly thinks.  
	"Diane Forests, will you marry me?" asks Dan as he drops to one knee and 
pulls out an open ring case.  Her face takes on the expression of surprise and 
joy.  "Yes," Diane says eagerly as she held out her hand.  Dan places the ring 
on her finger and then kisses her softly.
	Out of the corner of her eye, Sally sees Dan and Diane coming out of the 
room.  "Sonic, looks like they're finished with their talk," whispers Sally.  
Sonic looks too and notices that they are happy about something.  "Yeah, did 
he dump her or something?" asks Sonic, "because they're happy about 
something."  Dan and Diane take their seats and Sally asks, "So, what's new?"
	"Dan just proposed to me," says a beaming Diane while showing Sally the 
ring on her hand.  "Congratulations," says Sally.
	"Dan, you couldn't time it so that we could of had a double wedding?" 
asks Sonic.  "Why and get the preacher to work over time?  Oh, Sonic, you were 
right.  I was scared about asking Diane to marry me, but I was too stubborn to 
admit it," admits Dan.
	"Well this is good news," announces Sally.
	"Dan and Diane are getting married," adds Sonic.  Dan and his fiancee 
stand up and say, "We are going to be married in two weeks."  Everyone was in 
an exceptionally good mood after that bit of news.  Sonic and Sally had cut a 
piece of their wedding cake.  Sonic places a piece of the slice in Sally's 
mouth as she placed a piece of the same slice in his.  After the reception, 
they all wished Sonic and Sally good luck and congratulated Dan and Diane on 
their engagement.  "So I take it that we'll leave everything setup then," says 
Sonic.  "Yeah, that would be a good idea," adds Dan.  For two weeks Knothole 
has been busy preparing for Dan's and Diane's wedding instead of raids on 
Robotropolis again, which makes Snively happy and nervous all at the same 
time.
