"Well, since me and you are going to be hanging out a lot, I figure that you should get to know the other guys who are over at my house 24/7." Nick explained.
"Okay." Haylee replied.
"Here were are." Nick said happily as him and Haylee walked in to the backstage area.
"Well well well. Nick finally decides to grace us with his presence." AJ joked.
"Sorry I'm late guys but I brought a good friend of mine. Guys, I would like you to meet..." Nick was cut off.
"Haylee!" Brian exclaimed.
"Brian!" Haylee screamed.
"Oh my god! I can't believe how much you've changed in eight years!" Brian exclaimed once more, spinning Haylee around.
"I am officially freaked out." Nick said with a confused look on his face.
"Do you two know each other?" Howie asked.
"Yeah. I used to baby-sit Haylee when she was little until she was ten. Then I went to live with Kevin in Florida. We became best friends and I never saw her again." Brian explained.
"She moved in next door to me yesterday." Nick said, trying to feel special about himself.
"Guys, I'd really hate to break up this little reunion, but we have to get going. The show is in an hour and our other soloist just canceled so we have to find another one." The stage manager said. All was quiet for about a minute.
"How about Haylee?" Nick suggested.
"I don't know. The manager said. "Haylee, would you be want to do that?" Haylee took a deep breath and looked at Nick who gave her his oh-so-famous puppy dog eyes.
"Okay." Haylee hesitated.
"Great." Their manager said relieved. "Can you sing something for me?"
"Sure." Haylee replied.
"Wow." The manager said.
"Amazing. You still sing like you did when you were little!" Brain exclaimed.
Nick just stood there with his mouth dropped open. "I can't believe what I just heard." Nick said, still in awe.
"Okay then. It's official, we have our new solo act." Their manager said. "Now, backstage. The concert is in a half hour."
"Oh shit!" AJ screamed as they all ran backstage.
"Oh Haylee," Nick remembered, as every one was getting ready to go on stage, "what song are you going to be singing?"
"Ummm..." Haylee thought for a second, "My Heart Belongs to Daddy."
"Good choice." Nick grinned. "You might wanna wear this." Nick smirked, handing her a bag.
"Okay." Haylee replied. "Now get on stage. I'll see you right after Brian's solo."
"Okay. Now just to let you know; Kevin, AJ, and Howie are going to be doing the scat singing part of the song so you won't have to worry about doing that. But just get into it; move around and stuff. And me and Brian will be on stage with you and Brian is going to play the daddy part of it." Nick explained.
"Nick! Get your ass out here now!" Brian yelled.
"Coming!" Nick yelled back. "I'll see you in a bit." Nick said sweetly as he leaned in for a quick hug.
Haylee watched Nick disappear on to the stage and then saw that she was to be on in about a half-hour, so she went into the hair and make up facility to change into her out fit.
"Oh my god!" Haylee exclaimed as she stepped out of the changing room. "I feel like Britney Spears." Referring to her plaid mini skirt, white blouse, gray cardigan, frilly socks, and Mary Jane's.
"You look all sweet and innocent." The hairdresser complied.
"So did Britney Spears. And now look what happened to her." Haylee pointed out.
"Well anyway, you are on in fifteen minutes and we still have to do your hair, make up, and warm up your voice."
"Okay." Haylee said, hopping up on the chair.
Within ten minutes, Haylee had warmed up her voice, had her hair put up into pigtail french braids and had her make up put on. "Now here is your head mike," The stage director said, assembling it on her. "And Brian will introduce you and you will start from there. Good luck!"
"Thanks, I'll need it." Haylee said nervously.
"Haylee!" someone was calling as they ran out from backstage.
"Hey Aaron. How did you do?" Haylee asked.
"Pretty good. I am finally getting used to performing in front of a bunch of screaming girls, waiting for my brother." Aaron joked.
"Haylee, you're on." The stage announcer said.
"Well Aaron, I have to go. But I will talk to you after the show."
"Good luck Haylee!" Aaron said, giving her a hug. Haylee walked to the side of the stage and waited for her cue.
"Ladies and gentlemen, "Brian started, "We have a special treat for y'all. One of my best friends is here tonight to perform one of the world's greatest hits. Now, here to perform "My Heart Belongs to Daddy" is Haylee Parker!"
The crowd cheered as Haylee walked onto the stage. The music began and Haylee took a deep breath.
