I was born in Diospolis Magna, what the people now know as Thebes, in the year 1128 B.C. Daughter of Pharoah Rameses IV, I was afforded much in my young life. My mother, occupied with her duties as a High Priestess, was rarely in evidence in daily life. I was raised by various Priests of several deities. My Father was a Mage of great standing among the people of his region. He was also an Avatar of The Great Anubis, my True Father.
The Night of my conception was a rather unique one. My Father approached my mother that night not as himself but as The Great God of the Underworld, Anpu or Anubis as Westerners know him. The Fruit of their union was of course, Myself. The Evening of my birth was auspicious, The Nile was in full flood and the Moon was bright above. Anubis presided at my birth though none but I could see him. As his blessing upon me, he left me with an Amulet fashioned from his own Spirit.
Life was easy for me, attended as I was, closely by the royalty of my house but really there was no need. For the Gods smiled upon me. I grew quickly, instructed by my father in his own Arts, and knew much by my 16th Summer. 3 more years passed for me before my life was to change..For better or worse I still haven't a clue. But change it did.
The time of my 19th flood came and my Father began talking of Marriage to a Noble that came from further lands. I knew nothing of this man and protested the marriage. The Night my btrothal was announced however, I was visited by Anpu who told me, in my dream, that the marriage was by his order and that he promised me I would enjoy the union. So, I, of course, obeyed as was customary.
My marriage was a quiet ocassion by my choice as I had not many others. The Priests who blessed our union bestowed gifts upon my husband and I. My husband, Talaren, was a Great man among our people, though it was said the Blessing of Re-Atum fell not on his head. Such was I to learn of in the coming nights. Beautiful he was, of silver hair and eyes so blue as to be almost violet. It was a chore to keep my eyes off him that Eve, for we were married in the mid of night, beneath a pregnant moon.
The Night of our joining I found out why we needed to be married in the dark of the night. Talaren was a Vampire, one of those creatures between mortality and death who wander the lands in search of many things. Raises as I was though, I was rather more fascinated than afraid of Talaren. I listened and learned of him.. then I became like him. He was my life for but a year before he was killed... by my own hand.
No.. I didn't kill my husband on purpose. I loved him far too much for that. Rather it was more in the way of an accident. I had yet to come into my power as both a vampire and a daughter of Anpu. The night before our first anniversary I was walking home from a successful feeding at the temple when my Husbands main rival, another like ourselves, appeared before me. I was just young and frightened by his appearence so I turned to try to run. He grabbed me and tried to drink my life from me.
At that time, something came over me, a dark rushing, a power filled me and burst outward, blinding as it struck out in all directions. Unknown to me, my beloved Talaren had tracked me and I saw him just before that which was released collided with him. His Rival and he both shattered and disappeared as if they were never there, my last sight of Talaren was his face frozen in terror.
And then I ran......
