The VIRGINIA TECH HOKIES FOOTBALL SQUAD had such a great year in '99. The HOKIES went 11-1 in their first ever undefeated regular season and played the FLORIDA STATE CRIMINOLES for the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP in NAWLINS!!! Although they lost 46-29 the HOKIES came home heroes. Led by a charismatic freshman quarterback, MICHAEL VICK, and a terrorizing defense, led by JOHN ENGELBERGER and COREY MOORE, the HOKIES shot up to their highest appearance ever at No. 2 in the nation.
