Hello, I am Michael Cirasole and I am a candidate for Member of the East Whittier City School District Governing Board. I would appreciate your support for the upcoming election on November 6, 2007. But before you decide, let me tell you a little about myself.
I have been a resident of the East Whittier City School District for more than 50 years. My wife and I live just a mile or so from the East Whittier City School District office and are blessed with two adult children. My career has been dedicated to public service in and around Whittier and has included positions of fiscal responsibility with the former Rio Hondo Area Action Council, as well as the cities of Pico Rivera, Santa Fe Springs and Norwalk.
Following my employment with the above agencies, I have been working the past 26 years for the Los Angeles County Office of Education, where my experience has varied from providing internal analysis in matters of school administration, legislation and business to the assisting of local school districts and administrators in areas including budgeting, finance and compliance with state and federal requirements. For approximately the last 20 years, I have been directly responsible for reviewing and monitoring the annual budgets, attendance reports, financial reports, audit reports, collective bargaining proposals, enrollment projections and other matters that could impact the financial status of the several school districts assigned to me.
My long career in public service has focused on the analysis, budgeting and problem solving related to various agencies, and their respective issues and constituencies. I believe I have acquired the knowledge and experience that would complement the mission of the East Whittier City School District and Governing Board in serving the educational needs of the children of this community.
