Edward Van Halen 

 

Aqui meu guitarrista preferido.Pode não ser o melhor mas é meu preferido. Aqui um pouco da história desse revolucionário guitarrista: EDWARD LODEWIJK VAN HALEN ou Eddie Van halen nasceu em Amsterdam, Holanda em 26 de janeiro de 1955. Estabeleceu-se nos EUA onde formou o grupo homônimo. Revolucionou a guitarra com seu jeito de tocar, expandiu as possibilidades do instrumento e se tornou o mais cultuado guitarrista desde Jimi Hendrix. Teve como maiores influências Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton e Allan Holdsworth. Em 1990 o 1º disco do Van Halen foi considerado o melhor disco de guitarra dos últimos 20 anos em votação pelos leitores da revista Guitar Player. Pat Metheny em entrevista na Guitar World (maio de 1985) declarou: "To tell you the truth, I think Eddie Van Halen is one of my favorite guitar players. Eddie Van Halen sounds like a post-Coltrane saxophone player to me." Para ouvir: "Eruption" (Van Halen I), "Cathedral" (Diver Down) e "Respect the Wind" (música que finaliza o filme "Twister").
